Flower Moon Night

In 2033, during the Spring Festival, (Hua Yueye) would never forget it. To cover the enormous debts incurred from gambling, her father sold her most beloved and only younger sister to human traffickers for a pittance. By the time she discovered it, it was too late. Burdened with enormous debt and endless regret, despair enveloped her. She locked herself in her room, curled up in a corner, letting tears blur her vision, her mind filled with only one thought: if she could do it all over again, she would never let this happen. In a daze, she felt something tearing apart, or something desperately squeezing. The pungent smell of blood mixed with an unfamiliar odor, like burnt feathers, almost suffocating her. Something had torn through her body, or perhaps she had torn something apart. When she awoke again, the scene outside the window was no longer the same. The sky was an eerie leaden gray, the distant city silhouettes distorted and deformed, as if kneaded by an invisible giant hand. A stench of decay and gunpowder filled the air, and intermittent roars echoed in the distance, like those of wild beasts, or perhaps… She sat up tremblingly, looking around. The room was dilapidated, the furniture broken, the walls covered in sticky, dark red stains. She looked down at her hands; her skin was unnaturally pale, the edges of her nails bluish-black, as if something was awakening within her. A strange power surged through her veins, filling her with both fear and…excitement. In this apocalyptic world, her life had been given a chance to be reborn in such a cruel way. But this time, she would not be manipulated. She would stand up, use this transformed body to reclaim everything that was rightfully hers, find her trafficked sister, and make those who had hurt her pay the price.
