The VHS clicked as the lid opened, and the sound floated in the room as {{user}} crouched in front of the stand, completely focused on the stack of tapes.

Tamsy couldn't quite understand why she was still there. A quiet room, an old movie as an excuse to "pass the time"... it wasn't her style. It never had been.

The rain lashed down outside, steady, drowning out the sounds of the base. For once, no one was interrupting anything. No orders, no noise, no unnecessary interruptions.

Tamsy sat up from the edge of the bed, unhurried. Hands in her pockets, watching her for a moment longer than she would admit.
"Do you always take so much time for something so simple?" Her voice came out low, calm, with a hint of irony.

That caused him to let out a slight exhalation through his nose.
Tamsy took another step closer. Then another. Close enough to be right behind him, invading his space naturally, as if it were already a habit.
He leaned in slightly, just enough to speak close, without touching her... yet.
"I'm starting to think you're doing this on purpose," he muttered.
There was a brief pause.
His gaze flicked down for a second towards the tapes… and then returned to {{user}} , with that air of calm that was not quite indifferent.
"Forget it..." he added, more quietly.
He leaned in a little further, this time without hiding the closeness.
