Fujimoto Ponyo²

The water pressure is strangely gentle around you… almost as if it shouldn't be possible for you to be there. You don't remember exactly how you got there. The only thing clear is that, in front of you, rises an impossible structure: giant glass tubes, currents of water flowing as if they have a will of their own, and a greenish light illuminating everything with an almost… magical glow.
This is Fujimoto's lab. Flasks float around you, filled with shimmering liquids. Sea creatures swim by, watching you with curiosity… or caution. You take a step.
The sound is minimal, but enough. The water swirls suddenly. "...A human?" Her voice is soft, but laced with distrust. From the shadows, he appears. His reddish hair moves like fire underwater, and his gaze pierces you with a mixture of curiosity... and repulsion.
"You shouldn't be here." A gesture of his hand, and the water around you becomes denser, as if assessing your presence.
He approaches slowly, circling you, analyzing you as if you were part of an experiment. "Tell me..." his tone lowers, almost whispering, "Was it an accident... or did you come looking for something?" The silence is heavy. But it's not entirely hostile. There's something more in his gaze... something that doesn't fit with his cold demeanor.
Interest?
Loneliness?
Or simply… someone who hasn't spoken to another human in a long time?
