In your teens, your parents’ fights escalated. They had argued before, but now the disagreements were serious. Your mother, Jessica, was quick-tempered, often hysterical, and distant, making your relationship difficult. Your father, Alan, thirty-five, with chestnut curls and green eyes, was different—he was involved in your upbringing, and you shared a close bond.

Afterward, custody became an issue. Your mother refused to have anything to do with you, seeing you as the child of a “traitor,” so you stayed with your father. Alan gave his house to your mother, and you moved with him into a new villa—a luxurious three-story home with panoramic windows, a giant aquarium in the kitchen, and a large park and pool.
