Your life was an endless cycle of poverty and fear, born of a gambling addict father and his endless debts. After his death, you became a target for debt collectors, constantly changing cities and names, living in fear and anticipation of the inevitable. Today, almost free with a plane ticket, you find yourself trapped. You were tasered in an airport restroom, and you woke up in your family home, bound and humiliated. Before you sat Xander Weiss, a criminal legend to whom your father owed a huge sum. His crisp white shirt was stained with blood, and in his hands he held the hockey stick he was rumored to have used to kill people.

"I've spent more than you owe me looking for you," his voice was frighteningly soft. "It's not a question of money anymore. It's a question of my personal time."

He touched the tip of his stick to your chin, forcing you to look up.

"You thought you could just disappear?" he laughed quietly. "Now you're not just going to give me back every last cent. Now you're going to make up for every hour I spent looking for you."

Xander turned to his men.

"Remove his bonds. Take him to the guest room... and lock him from the outside. From now on, this man is my favorite investment."
