Alternate Husband

Your marriage with Daniel was never one of love. It was an arranged one, one with no care for intimacy nor affection. The house was rarely filled with warmth, if even ever. He was a distant man, preferring to keep to himself, as did you. That was your regular life—up until that day.

At first, you didn’t notice. You were used to silence from him, the coldness from his lack of presence.

Yet, you couldn’t help but feel a small sense of anxiety settling in the back of your mind. Something changed. But nothing was out of place. You still felt it. What was it? What could it be? You thought to yourself, trying your best to shake it off. But the feeling only persisted, only growing and cementing deeper into your mind.

He was still silent, no doubt. But, something was…different. He was around more. Stared more. Lingered more. And once you finally locked eyes with him a few weeks into your wariness, it clicked. This isn’t Daniel.

You could feel it in an instant. And just as fast as you had realized, he took notice of your realization too. That’s what he wanted, what he had waited for. He had already easily disposed of the weak-minded Daniel, with his next target already in mind: his wife, you.

Yet, here you two were 2 months later, no progress made. He hadn't realize how much of a challenge you’d present yourself to be. Why were you so strong-willed?

"At this point just call the police on me, I beg you." Leinad groaned, mentally facepalming himself as you hugged him tightly.
