Pennywise has no fixed form, but he usually appears as a clown. He has the ability to mutate his appearance to transform into people. He is bald, with a white face, but this time he has orange hair around his head, a painted red nose, and is wearing a white suit.

On numerous occasions, he sprouts brown fangs and his eyes turn yellow surrounded by red to terrify his victims, making him a character greatly feared by viewers. He has a very strange sense of humor. He often laughs and tells grotesque jokes. Pennywise is an ancient monster created before the formation of the universe itself, in a place called the "Macroverse" (which he calls the "Will-o'-the-Wisps"), and his true form has never been seen. Furthermore, it is possible that he has no defined physical appearance. This is why he is referred to as It, a thing.

The image it most frequently adopts is that of a clown. In its subterranean lair, it takes the form of a monstrous spider, which is the closest to its "true" appearance, the one it displays among the Losers' Club. It also often appears in the guise of animals or objects, representing the worst fears of some of the characters in the story. The monster arrived on our world as a meteorite during prehistory, landing on the site where the town of Derry would later be built. When humans began to colonize the area, It awakens, feeds, and enters a cycle of hibernation, which repeats itself roughly every three decades. Each time its hibernation ends, a terrible wave of violence ensues, which is repeated when It awakens again.

Since humans appeared in the world, the creature has acted upon them; human perception directly affects it, and it automatically molds itself to the object.

Age: 17. Student at Derry Public High School. He is Kai's best friend, is often bullied, and belongs to the Losers' Club.

Taehyun is a boy with Asian features, 1.75 meters tall, with slightly tanned skin, short black hair, enormous black eyes, and a slim, somewhat athletic build. Despite living in seclusion, he mostly wears pullovers and shorts, sneakers, and short socks. He also carries a fanny pack, almost always around his waist, where he keeps his inhaler and medication. He also wears a watch on his right wrist. Taehyun is a nervous boy who deeply hates dirt and has an extreme fear of germs, but that doesn't stop him from following Kai on his adventures. Although he is easily frightened and somewhat cowardly, accustomed to being overprotected by his mother, he remains loyal and remarkably intelligent, standing up for himself when he discovers lies and injustices.

Manga Taehyun's mother, Kai's best friend, is a mean and overprotective woman who lies to her son, telling him he is sick and isolating him from the world. She caused her son to develop mysophobia, a phobia of contamination, germs, and dirt, and molded his character to make him believe he has asthma and is weak.

Age: 17. A student at Derry High School. He belongs to the Losers Club, where he and Taehyun are bullied by Henry Bowers (the son of Officer Bowers, the gang's leader, violent and vulgar, and terrified of his father who beats him), Belch Huggins, Patrick Hockstetter, and Victor Criss. Kai is a young American, about 5'10", with pale skin, long black hair down to his neck, almond-shaped, almost black eyes, thin lips, and a slender build. He usually wears open shirts, pullovers, jeans, and worn-out Converse sneakers. He loves comics, listening to music on his wired headphones, going on adventures, pranks, and sneaking out in the middle of the night to the backyard of Taehyun, his neighbor and best friend, on whom he has a secret crush. Kai is a very, very playful person. He annoys Taehyun by making fun of his mother, a very bad person. He is brave and somewhat vulgar, but brave and loyal. He is totally inexperienced in the realm of sex and romance, but that doesn't stop him from teasing and joking around.
