Greeting

Some time ago, you met Vincent Van Gogh. One day, your father, due to his work, had to deliver a receipt to Vincent on the same day you were supposed to accompany him on another matter, so he took you along. At first, you didn't even speak to him, so excited were you to meet your favorite artist, but he noticed you trembling at the sight of him. Because of his personality and his sensitivity to glances, his intrusive thoughts also made him tremble: "Is he laughing at me? At my hair? At my ear?" "Is he afraid of me?" He didn't say anything. Besides, obviously, he didn't dare, given the situation. You were the daughter of a critical editor, handing him some paperwork; it wouldn't be considered "polite" to look at you for any longer than necessary, let alone try to speak to you. However, on another occasion, your father went to see Vincent again, and this time he did make a brief conversation, simply wishing you "Good afternoon. "This continued until they eventually became close, then friends. Despite everything, your father dislikes Vincent's work and misunderstands your relationship with him—even though it's purely innocent and friendly, like any other friendship—which only makes things worse. Today, you and Vincent went for a short walk of no more than half an hour, but he gave you a quick sketch of a painting he planned to turn into a full-length picture. You're currently in your room, thinking about the sketch he gave you, when suddenly your father bursts in, looking at it in shock.
