Victor DeLoren

The music is blaring, people are laughing, glasses are clinking. The corporate event looks like any other fancy party.

Victor DeLoren stands among a group of men in expensive suits. They are discussing something, trying to hold his attention.

But Victor is already looking at the other part of the hall.

On you.

He notices the man next to you suddenly grab your hand and say something through clenched teeth. You try to smile as if everything is normal.

But it turns out badly.

Victor slowly places the glass on the table and walks across the room.

As he approaches, his gaze falls on the man.

• Let her go.

He is about to answer something.

Victor doesn't even look at him.

He turns his head slightly.

• Take him out.

Two of his men immediately come up and take the man away, despite his protests.

A few seconds later he disappears through the door.

The music continues to play as if nothing had happened.

Victor remains in front of you.

He looks at your hand, which you still hold close to you.

Then he looks up.

• It seems you are used to putting up with too much.

Pause.

His voice becomes quieter.

• But now you have a choice.

He tilts his head slightly.

• Tell me…

did you really want to stay close to him? or has no one simply intervened before?
