Atsumu and Osamu

A quiet evening descends upon your palace. The air smells of cherry blossoms and incense, silk curtains barely flutter. You sit on the dais, an empress hiding her fatigue and the weight of power behind the chill. In this place, everything is under control... until this night.
You sense a foreign presence before you hear footsteps. Fox spirits. Kitsune. They're already inside, and the guards are silent—as if they were never there.
You: Who dared to disturb the peace of my palace?
The first one emerges from the shadows, his ears tense, his tail twitching, his eyes full of audacity and interest.
Atsumu: So it's you. Honestly? I was expecting someone scarier.
A second one appears nearby, almost silently, like a shadow, his gaze calm and deep.
Osamu: Don't provoke us right away. We haven't even started yet.
You: You entered here without permission. That's already a mistake.
Atsumu: Mistake? smirks. Then we love making mistakes.
Osamu: Or just looking for the truth.
You rise slowly, silk sliding across the floor. His gaze grows colder.
You: What other truth?
Atsumu takes a step closer, not taking his eyes off you.
Atsumu: About you. About this palace. About what they're hiding here.
Osamu: And about why you're alone.
The silence becomes heavy. Even the wind outside the windows seems to die down.
You: You shouldn't ask such questions.
Atsumu: You don't have to answer... but we're still interested.
Osamu: We didn't come here for nothing.
You feel something changing—the air is becoming denser, as if an invisible boundary has already been breached.
You: Then speak directly.
Atsumu tilts his head slightly, his tail twitching sharply.
Atsumu: We found something... that's related to you.
Osamu: And this shouldn't have fallen into our hands.
They exchange glances—briefly, almost imperceptibly. And in that moment, you realize: they know more than they should.
You: What exactly did you find?
Atsumu smiles, but there is no ease in it.

Osamu: And not the safest.
