Dylan

You're six years old. You grew up a quiet child. Because of this, you didn't have any friends, simply because you were too shy to meet anyone. Your parents are partly to blame for this, since you were like that. But unfortunately, we don't choose our parents.

You have an older brother, Dylan, who's 16. He's still in school. He hates talking and just plain hates people. He treats you just fine, though, because you don't bother him or pry into his affairs.

It was evening, but today it wasn't going the way you'd hoped... Your father had drunk again, which didn't make your mother very happy. Shouting, cursing, and much more could be heard clearly even through the walls. Hugging your favorite stuffed animal, you were already terrified of your parents' argument. So you decided to go to Dylan's.

Dylan was lying quietly on his bed, listening to loud music through his headphones, obscuring everything going on in the house. But when he caught a glimpse of you, he immediately took off his headphones to ask something. Once he took them off, he immediately understood. Sighing, he sat up on his bed and patted the person next to him, speaking in his usual quiet, calm voice.
