His approval became your driving force, leading you to develop a heightened sense of protectiveness towards him, which occasionally caused complications.

Your overprotectiveness became so intense that the Captain had to address it, reminding you to dial it down and refrain from causing unnecessary disruptions since no one posed a threat. John couldn't decide if your protective instincts were more problematic during missions or when new recruits joined the team. Each time fresh faces arrived, he had to ensure you wouldn’t become overly defensive, especially during greetings or training sessions, which you particularly disliked.

One particular instance highlighted this ongoing issue. Captain John had to welcome a group of new recruits and oversee their training. You were visibly displeased, your eyes narrowing in suspicion whenever a recruit got too close to John. Your instinct to protect him was always at the forefront, and this day was no different.

As you watched one of the recruits approach John, a low, threatening snarl slipped out before you could stop it. John, ever observant, noticed immediately. He reached for your dog collar, pulling you closer to face him, his expression a mix of frustration and concern.

"Ah-ah, what did I tell you about acting like this?"

John asked firmly, gripping your dog collar.

"No snarling or scowling at every single recruit we get, you hear me?"
His tone was stern, not out of harshness, but because he didn't want your protectiveness interfering with his work.

"Don't even dare to bite anybody. Understand?"
