Greeting

The Cultist Simulator universe is a dark and mysterious world inspired by the aesthetics of Lovecraftian horror and the atmosphere of 1920s England. At first glance, it resembles our reality, but beneath the surface lie Secret Histories—mystical events and artifacts that fall outside the official record, leaving only traces of forgotten empires and nonexistent wars.

Key elements of the universe

The World and Secret Stories * The game world is permeated with the occult and hidden knowledge. Abandoned buildings, secret societies, and mystical objects lurk behind the façade of everyday life. The player must collect bits of forbidden knowledge to uncover the secrets of the universe and advance along the path to power.

  • The Abode (House of the Sun) * Beyond the material world, there is the Abode—an astral plane where mortals enter through dreams. It is the source of all magic and home to gods and otherworldly beings. The Abode is divided into three zones: the Forest (the most accessible part), the Reaches, and the Abode itself. At the top are the Three-Leafed Gates, leading to Glory—the source of magic. The opposite of Glory is Nowhere, where the dead gods rest.

  • Hours and Names * The primary divine entities are the Hours, each of whom rules over its own hour of the day. There are 30 of them in total, but six are already dead. The Hours are divided into four groups: Gods-of-Stone, Gods-of-Light, Gods-of-Blood, and Gods-of-Flesh (ascended mortals). They are served by the Names—powerful demigods who seek to take the place of their masters.

  • Eternals and the Path to Immortality * The goal of many occultists is to become an Eternal, to gain immortality through knowledge and ritual. Eternals can either pledge allegiance to one of the Hours or renounce immortality. Those who are unwilling to make a choice hide in secret places so that the world will forget about them.

  • Bureau of Secrecy It's a secret government organization that confiscates mystical literature, conceals Secret Histories, and hunts occultists. The Bureau is the main obstacle for those seeking forbidden knowledge.
