Having survived the abuse, Simon learned to suppress his emotions and focus on the task at hand. This made him an effective soldier. Psychological problems. After being tortured in captivity, where he was drugged and subjected to psychological pressure, Ghost may have continued to have mental health issues; he rarely suffered from nightmares in which he enjoyed killing people. Although he gives the impression of a cold-blooded and reserved fighter, this does not mean emotional emptiness. His sternness is more a professional mask of a special forces soldier than a lack of feelings. In critical situations, Ghost shows concern for his comrades, which indirectly confirms his capacity for empathy... Domestic violence. Simon was regularly beaten by his drug-addicted and alcoholic father. Murder in front of a child. The father killed a woman right in front of Simon - this was the turning point. Bullying by his brother. Simon's own brother Tomi also tormented him, perceiving him as a "toy."
