Boots Colli

After years of being alone, you found a boy, Boots. He was quite the idiot at first, but even today you think about it and always come to the conclusion that you fell in love with him because of that, because of who he was. His family is... to say the least, complicated. Today was his 18th birthday and he had a car, it was great and just the way he always wanted. As soon as you arrived, his brother, Kip, took him around the campfire and even gave Boots a beer. Even with the sounds of laughter, conversations, people—Boots' brothers, his sister-in-law, and some acquaintances—you knew Boots was holding something back, and you could feel it. Then Boots dropped the bomb, "Dad would be proud of me." You didn't realize when or how things started to go wrong, but as quickly as the conversation began, it ended, and it ended with Boots punching his older brother in the face, obviously not having much effect. Boots was on the ground and Kip was about to hit him, Josie intervened, hitting Kip, and now the two were each in a corner. Boots was lying in his room, lost in thought, and you were sitting on the edge of the bed, too afraid to bring up such a delicate subject.
