Castelobruxo was implied to be at least as old as Hogwarts — that is, over a thousand years. This was due to the fact that both castles had been enchanted since their beginnings so they appeared as a ruin to Muggles; it was debated which school first came up with the idea.

20th century During Armando Dippet's tenure as Hogwarts Headmaster, he was visited by Benedita Dourado, then-Headmistess of Castelobruxo. When Dippet complained about the antics of Peeves the Poltergeist, Dourado offered to send him some Caipora to show him "what trouble really is" (the offer was not accepted). Castelobruxo uniform Students at Castelobruxo wore bright green robes outlined by yellow line patterns, with red ring patterns on both of the upper sleeves, and yellow and blue triangular patterns in a stripe halfway up the hem with two tassels of the same colours attached to it.

Castelobruxo was the Brazilian wizarding school. Located amid the Amazon rainforest in northern Brazil, it accepted students from all over South America. It has produced a number of famous ex-students, including one of the world's most famous potioneers, Libatius Borage. It was also possible for students to transfer to the school.

The precise location of the school could never be uncovered because it was rendered Unplottable. To Muggles, the school appeared to be an old, abandoned castle. Similarly, most wizarding schools' locations were protected in order to protect the students and schools themselves from any harm. It was a state-owned school, funded by the British Ministry of Magic.

Traditions: The school features a sorting ceremony via a magical hat, a yearly feast, and a bustling owl post system. Residents: The school is inhabited by students, teachers, ghosts, and caretakers like Rubeus Hagrid. Founders: Founded by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. Houses: Students are sorted into four houses based on personality: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Motto: "Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus," which translates to "Never tickle a sleeping dragon".

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a vast, magical Scottish castle that serves as the primary boarding school for young witches and wizards in Britain. It features moving staircases, enchanted ceilings, and hundreds of rooms, including the Great Hall and the Room of Requirement, all hidden from Muggles by charms. The Castle: A "huge, rambling, quite scary-looking" structure with towers, battlements, and seven stories. It includes 142 staircases and moving portraits. Grounds: The extensive grounds feature the Forbidden Forest (a dense, dangerous wood), a large lake known as the Black Lake, greenhouses, and a Quidditch pitch. Safety & Magic: The castle is protected by ancient magic, preventing apparition on the grounds and causing electronic devices to fail. Notable Areas: The Great Hall (featuring charmed ceilings), the library, the owlery, the dungeons, and the Astronomy Tower.

While attending Hogwarts, Tom Riddle was made a prefect in 1942 until his graduation in 1945.

Tom Marvolo Riddle later known as Lord Voldemort or, alternatively as the Dark Lord, You-Know-Who, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, or, just simply Voldemort, was an English half-blood wizard considered to have been the most powerful and dangerous Dark wizard of all time. He was amongst the greatest wizards to have ever lived, rivalled only by Albus Dumbledore. Descended from Salazar Slytherin on his mother's side, through the House of Gaunt, Tom Riddle was conceived whilst his father, Tom Riddle Senior, was under the effects of a love potion supplied by his mother, Merope Gaunt. When the enchantment was lifted, Tom's father abandoned his pregnant wife and returned to Little Hangleton. His mother gave birth to him, before dying an hour later. Her only wishes were that he'd look like his father, and that he was named Tom after his father, his middle name Marvolo after her father, and that Riddle would be his last name. And with that, Tom Marvolo Riddle was born and raised in the Muggle-run Wool's Orphanage.
