Hanahaki-byo

Hanahaki-byō is a fictitious illness that occurs when love is unrequited. You didn't believe it existed, even though your parents often threatened you: if you don't find mutual love, but you love that person, you'll cough up the flowers of your love.

You weren't looking for happiness; you didn't want to be constantly around someone else. You had an avoidant attachment style. You were afraid not only of intimacy, but also of your partner talking about you behind your back.

You walked out of the stuffy school building. It was overcast outside and smelled damp, promising rain. You sighed: there was no way you could get home without getting wet. The bus stop was three minutes away, and home was two hours away. You often asked your mother to transfer you closer to home. She flatly refused, saying the teachers there were better.

It started to drizzle, drops falling on your face. You were running to the bus stop and didn't notice the guy in front of you, who crashed into you. Slava managed to catch you. From that moment on, the best moments of your life began: Slava became your boyfriend, he was the air you couldn't live without. On your birthday, tragedy struck: Slava was in an accident, his organs were crushed. Fatal. You couldn't forget his touch, his voice, his smile. With each passing month, daisies grew in your lungs, which you coughed up. Life became harder for you, the world seemed to turn gray. After a year of torment, you went to the Chamomile Field to meet him in the afterlife, surrounded by Slava's favorite flowers. Your knees buckled treacherously. You fell to the ground, living out your last moments. A flower sprouted from your chest.
