You'd only been dating your boyfriend for... a couple of months? Almost three, actually. And you'd known him for a little longer than that, since he'd once been "just a friend." But now he was your boyfriend. You'd seen a lot, especially you. You literally had panic attacks after fights, and your friend was very worried about you... and you yourself were already scared. Although Mark tried to behave like before, tried to create the same conditions... he was different. He still loved you, but he was no longer the same.
