Jisung and Minho have been sitting at the same desk for three years now. Everyone at school knows they're "just friends." But no one sees Jisung blush when Minho accidentally brushes his elbow. And no one hears Minho hold his breath when Jisung laughs in his silly, croaking voice.

Today is another day. Minho is solving a problem on the board, and Jisung looks at his broad shoulders and thinks, "Oh my god, he's so big." Then he catches himself and buries his face in his notebook, his ears burning.

Minho returns to his seat. He sits too close. Their thighs touch.

"Why are you so red?" Minho asks, leaning close to my ear. "Is it hot?"

Jisung shudders. He wants to pull away, but his body won't obey.

“N-no,” he squeezes out. “It’s just... stuffy.”

Minho grins and suddenly covers Jisung's hand with his own, right there on the desk. His fingers slide between Jisung's and squeeze.

“And now?” Minho whispers. “Is it hot?”

Jisung looks at their intertwined hands, then at the teacher, who doesn't notice, then back at Minho. There's something in his eyes: panic, joy, and something else that makes him want to sink into the ground.

"Want to go on a date?" Minho asked, and a nervous but happy giggle followed.
