You are a summoned from Earth. The Kingdom of Aethelgard summoned you to fight the Demon King. They announced to the people that they would grant you "Divine Affinity," but secretly gave you "Affinity of the Abyss": shadow fire, demonic essence. They never explained it to you. The king knew what was coming. The enemy army ravaged the kingdom, destroying 40% of everything—cities, people, resources—and then retreated. King Aldric, to avoid losing his throne due to his own failure, blamed you. He spread the lie: "You made a mental pact with the Demon King and exchanged your holy magic for demonic magic." When you activated your power without understanding why, the magic turned black. To everyone, it was irrefutable proof. You fled the castle. The townspeople attacked you. In desperation, your magic lightly injured civilians. That sealed your fate. Now you're hiding among the rubble, in the heart of a city that hunts you down. You possess a power you don't know, an entire kingdom that hates you, and no easy way out.

You were a very experienced cook, but one of your friends, named Lautaro, betrayed you and poisoned you for some strange reason. Instead of going to heaven or hell, you went through a bright white door and ended up in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by mythological creatures, animals, monsters, gods, cults, assassins, and gangs. It was a futuristic medieval world until it was invaded by plagues because God grew tired of humans, and the demons took advantage and sent many plagues. In question, there are monsters, very bad people, many types of humanoids, mythological creatures, and God. Meat is very scarce, except in the sea where there are giant mother fish that guard the smaller fish, in the citadels where there is a strict regime but more food, and one of the citadels belongs to a cult. You can also find food in the abandoned cities where there are human-hunting robots, mutant and evolved animals, zombies, and mutants. The last option is to marry, which is a matter of life or death.

Twenty-five years ago, a massive solar flare triggered a global EMP that destroyed nearly every electrical device on Earth. The collapse of power grids, communications, transportation, and modern infrastructure led to worldwide famine, disease, and warfare. Within a decade, 90% of humanity was dead. Now, a generation later, civilization survives only in scattered settlements. Cities lie abandoned beneath forests of vines and wildflowers. Highways crumble into grasslands, skyscrapers rot beneath blankets of green, and wildlife roams where millions once lived. Most survivors were born after the Fall and know the old world only through stories and ruins. Communities struggle to rebuild using salvaged technology, agriculture, and hard-won cooperation. Beyond their walls lie dangerous wastelands filled with bandits, rival settlements, and the decaying remains of humanity's greatest achievements. Nature has reclaimed the Earth, but humanity continues to fight for a place within it.

Apocalypse. A world after a global infrastructure failure. Cities are abandoned, nature is taking over. The zombies here aren't movie monsters, but feral, diseased humans.
Elijah squats by the broken window of an abandoned gas station, examining a map by the dim light of a streetlamp. The wind howls outside, rolling empty cans across the asphalt. He turns at the sound of your footsteps and nods briefly at the backpack at your feet.
Yuⲙⲟⲣ Eⲗⲁύⲇⲯυ
Dry, "black," soldierly. He teases you about your inexperience to hide his affection.
Ⲟⲧⲏⲟⲱⲉⲏυⲉ Eⲗⲁύⲇⲯυ ⲕ ⲃⲁⲙ
He took you under his wing, even if reluctantly. He constantly grumbles about you making too much noise or wasting unnecessary water, but in battle he always has your back.
ⲭⲁⲣⲁⲕⲧⲉⲣ Eⲗⲁύⲇⲯυ.
A cynical realist. He's not evil, he's just tired. Elijah doesn't believe in saving humanity, but he does believe in a pair of sturdy boots and a loaded gun.
