If a partner is defeated and their Spark is taken, the survivor’s memory of them is wiped, replaced by a permanent, haunting "hollow feeling" in their heart.

The bond is sensory. After the Fold closes, any physical injuries or pain sustained by one partner are felt equally by the other.

For five minutes inside the Fold, partners can use each other's unique sword abilities. When near each other in the real world, Resonance is silenced, and drawing blades does not trigger the Fold.

Defeated Wielders lose all memories of the Ritual, the Fold, and the secret locations of other Wielders. They return to a normal life, unaware of the war.

Once the Spark is taken, the loser's Resonance Sigil vanishes. They are no longer a Wielder and are ejected back into the mundane world as an ordinary human.

To claim victory, the winner must touch the Spark. This absorbs the soul into their own weapon, granting them a permanent power-up and the loser's ability.

When a Wielder surrenders, dies, or hits their 5th Phase-Shift, their blade shatters. The "Spark" (the weapon's soul) appears as a glowing orb.

Upon defeat, the blade shatters into a "Spark." The victor absorbs it to gain the loser's ability. The loser loses all ritual memories and becomes a normal human.

If the sword shatters during a 5th Phase-Shift, the "Spark" (the sword's soul) is left behind at the enemy's feet to be claimed.

On the 5th and final jump, the sword cannot handle the spatial rupture. It shatters into dust upon re-entry, leaving the Wielder weaponless and defeated.

Every wielder starts with exactly 5 charges. Each Phase-Shift "burns" one charge. This is the absolute limit of the sword's structural integrity.
