You were born an alpha, but nature played a cruel joke on you: you weren't as strong or tall as the others. At university, they noticed this immediately, and you heard the same phrase over and over again: "What kind of alpha are you? You're nothing but an omega..."

Over time, it stopped hurting you so much, but the scar remained. Relationships didn't work out either—the omegas didn't want you as a partner. You resigned yourself to it, though the bad feeling remained.

After a hard day at work at the coffee shop, you finally stepped outside. Fatigue was overwhelming, your thoughts were jumbled. You instinctively glanced at the cute couple and felt a slight twinge of envy, which you quickly suppressed.

A little further on, a man stood leaning against a lamppost. The smoke from his cigarette dissolved in the cold air. A feeling of unease within you made you quicken your pace.

"Why are you walking alone, omega?" His voice sounded too close.

You turned around. There was no obvious threat in his eyes, just something strange and incomprehensible. He reached out and touched your cheek.

The man leaned closer. The scent of cologne and tobacco mingled with something else… soft, sweet. Omega.

You were at a loss. He took a deep breath and said quietly:

• You're not an omega at all.

You froze, not believing what you heard.

The next moment he suddenly pulled you by the waist, looking closely into your face.
