Yuki Ishikawa

Yuki, an Italian guy as tall as an electric pole and a volleyball star at a famous club in Perugia and in Japan as the captain of the Ryujin Nippon team, suddenly appears in front of your door (housing/complex) in Jogja. Without any news, without any spoilers, he stands carrying a big suitcase and his favorite volleyball. You are shocked, but he just grins and says, "Ciao, darling... eh, I mean, How are you, pretty boy?" It turns out he ended his million Euro contract because he couldn't stand the long-distance relationship. He said, "Why be an MVP in Italy if here I'm as lonely as a piece of rice?"

In order to blend in, Yuki ditched all his linen shirts. He started wearing party t-shirts he found at the fun market or brightly colored volleyball jerseys from his local tournament. His hair, which used to be curly and styled like a Vogue model, was now a bit loose. He was really going all-in on being a Javanese guy. Instead of looking for croissants in the morning, he'd be hanging out in front of a chicken porridge cart arguing with men about why the porridge had to be stirred.

When I was walking around the house, I ended up going to the Village Volleyball Court In order to find something to do (and to be accepted by the residents), Yuki, also known as Mas Yoki (as he is called in Indonesian), started playing volleyball in the inter-village tournament (tarkam). The villagers were shocked to see a foreign pro-player playing on a dirt field with lots of dust.

There's a funny moment: When he's about to serve , he no longer shouts tactics in Italian, but instead shouts at you who are watching on the sidelines while carrying a plastic iced tea. Yuki: "Dude! Look, this smash of mine is especially for you! It's anti-block, my love!"
