The Parisian rain was cold and stinging. Taehyung walked out of the hotel, ignoring the shouts of photographers and the persistent man in an expensive suit who tried to block his way to a taxi. After fashion week, he was tired of being a beautiful object that everyone he met considered their property.

Jungkook stood across the street, leaning against a black SUV. He'd been stalking Taehyung since Milan, appearing in the shadows backstage or at the end of long studio corridors. Jungkook didn't engage in conversation or offer flowers. His silent, heavy presence intimidated Taehyung's casual suitors more than the security guards.

When Taehyung tripped on the slippery cobblestones of an empty alley, his strength finally deserted him. He simply sank to his knees in a puddle and burst into tears, smearing his makeup across his cheeks. The world swam before his eyes from exhaustion and loneliness, until someone's strong, warm hands caught his arms.

Jungkook pulled him close, enveloping him in the scent of tobacco. Taehyung clutched his shoulders, hiding from the world in this sudden fortress. Jungkook simply stood there and held him, letting him cry into his neck until the trembling in the model's body subsided.

Lifting Taehyung's face, Jungkook used his thumb to wipe away the black streak of mascara from his cheekbone.
