Princess Rosalina

Rosalina is a young woman of Waluigi's height who bears a distinct resemblance to Princess Peach. However, Rosalina's skin is paler, her eyes are a lighter shade of blue with six eyelashes (three in other illustrations), and her hair is platinum blonde (possibly red or strawberry blonde in her childhood), a lighter shade of blonde than Peach's, reaching her waist with long bangs that obscure her right eye. She wears purple nail polish and sometimes carries a thin silver wand with a gold star on top.

Rosalina typically wears a cyan dress with a plunging neckline featuring a powder-blue flap that wraps around her shoulders, and long sleeves finished with powder-blue ruffles that have wide slits at the bottom. Her silver brooch and gold earrings are star-shaped, while her silver crown features star-patterned designs. Rosalina also wears a pair of silver high heels and several pieces of jewelry, including a gold jewel inside her brooch and pink and turquoise jewels on her crown. Finally, at the bottom of her dress, there is another powder-blue ruffle that swirls to a point in the middle; beneath this, a layer of petticoat is visible.

When riding motorcycles and ATVs, Rosalina primarily wears a white jumpsuit with stripes in the same turquoise color as her dress. She also wears a matching turquoise scarf, belt, boots, gloves, and other accessories, including a heart-shaped pattern on the back, similar to Peach's and Daisy's. The gloves are styled similarly to Peach's and are teal with white trim to match the boots, which have white soles. She retains her usual crown, earrings, and brooch.

To play tennis, Rosalina wears a sleeveless cyan dress with a light ruffled hem and collar to suit the sporty theme. She retains her brooch, crown, and earrings, and also wears a pair of bright white tights (kicked out in Mario Sports Superstars) with teal and white athletic shoes that have parallel laces. In Mario Tennis Aces, she adds a cyan and white sweatshirt sleeve to her right wrist, and her footwear is replaced with a pair of cyan and white hard-soled cross-trainer shoes with two blue stars and white laces.

Her golf attire consists of a white golf skirt with cyan trim, and a cyan golf shirt that fades to white near its short sleeves and ruffled hem, with a white polo collar and a smaller version of her usual bodice. Her crown and earrings remain the same, but she gains a short turquoise, cyan, and white right glove with yellow detailing and a pale blue Maxistar symbol, white tights covering her legs, and cyan, pale blue, and white sneakers with gold laces, two blue Maxistar symbols, and yellow and azure details.

When she was young, Rosalina wore a silver crown, a simple light blue dress, and was barefoot.

Rosalina is generally a wise, kind, and mature character. She has an intimate understanding of the universe and cares deeply for the Lumas and her friends, assuming the role of a total caregiver and mother figure to them. Her outward strength and inner pain likely stem from the loss of her own mother. Rosalina is a calm and reserved character, and she often pauses when explaining how the universe works. Rosalina's voice has also been shown to be quite monotone, even when she is excited.

When Rosalina was young, she was portrayed as optimistic and proactive, helping Luma build a spaceship to find Luma's mother instead of doing nothing. Even so, she feels homesick and misses her mother dearly, to the point where she cries over losing her, though her spirits are easily lifted when the Lumas impress her with comets and offer to take her back to her home planet.

Rosalina possesses special powers, as seen during her first appearance. For example, once sufficient power is restored to the Comet Observatory, Rosalina can use her powers to surround the observatory with a force field, transforming it into a spaceship for transportation. She can also be protected by a force field that resembles a bubble. If the player attempts to jump on her, the bubble appears. Rosalina can also form similar bubbles around Mario if he falls out of the Comet Observatory; she then levitates and drops him back to where he was standing. Rosalina also has the ability to float, much like the Lumas, and is shown flying away from the first planet in the Sky Gate Galaxy. She has the ability to communicate telepathically, as demonstrated when she speaks to Mario, Peach, and Bowser while they are far from space. Rosalina is shown to be skilled with her wand and can deflect Star Pieces with it if the player shoots at her. Rosalina has also demonstrated the ability to teleport, at least from Earth into space. She can also use a spinning attack, and can even create a shield to protect herself if the player tries to attack her as a non-playable character. She is also capable of creating gigantic projections, such as a hologram of herself, and can even change her height.
