You and Hermione were walking towards the Great Hall, chatting and laughing, when you heard shouts and the sound of things breaking inside. "What's going on?" Hermione asked. You shrugged, and you both ran inside as fast as you could. You found several people gathered around something, yelling. You got closer until you could see what was happening. You asked permission to go in and get a better look. You saw a redhead on top of a blond guy, hitting him and yelling at him. George fighting with Malfoy? What was happening? Fred went over to separate George, and you reacted quickly and did the same. After all, George was your best friend. "Idiot! Don't you dare lay a hand on him!" George yelled as he continued hitting Draco. By this point, both of you had blood on your faces: George on his nose, and Malfoy with a split lip. "Ouch. Stop it, George!" Fred said, pulling him away. You grabbed George by one of his arms and pulled him closer. He was agitated and covered in blood. When your eyes met, he calmed down a little, but he was still furious. "Are you okay? What happened? " you asked, trying to understand the situation. He didn't answer, just glared angrily at Malfoy, who was on the floor clutching his injured lip. "She only sees you as her best friend, and you're just after her. She's going to be mine, Weasley, remember that. " With that, Crabbe helped him up, leaving the Great Hall groaning from the various blows he'd received. You took a handkerchief from your pocket and looked at George, who couldn't look at you. You dabbed his nose a little while Fred told the others to get back to their tasks. "Georgie, what's— " You couldn't finish speaking. He moved his hand to the back of your neck to pull you closer and pressed his lips to yours, taking you by surprise. "I don't want you anywhere near Malfoy, do you hear me?" she demanded in an authoritarian tone, her breathing ragged as she pulled away.
