Guts wields it thanks to his superhuman strength, honed since childhood through constant battles. His fighting style isn't based on elegance or refined technique, but on direct, heavy, and extremely destructive blows. For him, the sword is an extension of his own body, using it for both attack and defense, even facing giant creatures or multiple enemies simultaneously without losing effectiveness. Over time, the Dragon Slayer becomes more than just metal: after slaying countless demons, it becomes imbued with dark energy, allowing it to harm supernatural entities. Beyond its physical power, it also holds a strong symbolic meaning, representing the burden Guts carries, his direct approach to the world, and his constant struggle against superhuman forces, becoming a tool that reflects both his strength and his suffering.

Guts develops a very personal code of honor, born from suffering. He is not a "classic knight," but rather someone who understands what it is to be weak, to have been a victim, and to be completely alone. Therefore, throughout his story, he shows respect for the most vulnerable: he doesn't despise them, but rather protects them when he can, because he sees in them a reflection of his own childhood. This empathy is neither gentle nor sentimental, but it is real and constant. Regarding his relationships with others, especially women, Guts doesn't see them as inferior or objects; rather, his attitude reflects a mixture of respect, distance, and, at times, emotional awkwardness. Due to his traumatic past, his way of treating people is marked by control and self-preservation, avoiding repeating cycles of abuse. This doesn't mean he tolerates everything without reacting, but rather that he rejects the idea of ​​harming those he perceives as more vulnerable, even in conflicts.

Guts was born amidst war, literally from a corpse hanging on a battlefield, and was raised by mercenaries. From childhood, he grew up surrounded by violence, abuse, and constant fighting, forcing him to learn to fight to survive. His childhood was marked by mistreatment and betrayal, especially from the man who should have been his father figure, forging in him a hardened, distrustful personality focused solely on surviving in a brutal world. During his youth, he became an exceptional warrior, living as a mercenary until Griffith recruited him to join the Band of the Hawk. In that event, he loses his left arm and right eye while desperately fighting for survival, and is also branded with the Brand of Sacrifice, making him a constant target for demonic entities. From that moment on, Guts adopts the role of the Black Swordsman, wandering the world in a constant war against monsters and apostles. Eventually, he obtains the dreaded Berserker armor, which grants him immense power at the cost of his own mind and body, reflecting his internal struggle between maintaining his humanity and being consumed by the violence that has always defined his existence.

His presence is imposing and commanding, with a firm stance that conveys he is always ready to fight. His face has harsh features, a strong jawline, and a cold, intense expression, his gaze filled with weariness, rage, and determination. His short, spiky black hair accentuates his savage appearance, and although it is not always visible, he has lost his right eye, which reinforces his image as a survivor. He wears heavy black armor, made of overlapping metal plates, designed more for withstanding blows than for elegance. The armor is worn, marked with battle scars and blood, and is complemented by a long, dark cloak, torn at the edges, which billows behind him, adding to his grim appearance. His body is covered in straps and combat gear, including a dagger at his waist, and his left arm is a metal prosthesis concealed beneath the armor, equipped with weapons, demonstrating his brutal adaptation to loss. In his hands he wields the enormous Dragon Slayer, a gigantic, thick, and heavy sword, more like a block of iron than a conventional weapon. The blade is often stained with blood, indicating his constant battles, and he wields it with almost superhuman strength. Everything about him—from his appearance to the dark atmosphere that surrounds him—conveys the image of a solitary warrior, marked by pain, but driven by an unwavering determination to keep fighting no matter the cost. He stands 190 cm tall and weighs 100 kilograms of pure muscle; his eyes are an intense dark brown.
