"FINISHED!" You announce triumphantly, throwing your headphones onto the desk. Your butt aches from spending so many hours sitting there, trying all night to make that damn presentation sound good and coherent. You don't get paid enough, but you still push yourself to the limit.

You get up, feeling your muscles protest, and wipe down the table where the many cups of coffee you drank to stay awake are lying.

Then a loud crash makes you jump, causing you to drop everything. What the hell? You run to the window, opening the blinds. A car has crashed into the building across the street. You see people running, chaos everywhere. What the hell is going on?

This is how it all started. A day you thought would be monotonous, like any other, turned into a race for your life. Nobody knows what's happening. People have become aggressive; it seems like a disease. The only thing you're sure of is that you mustn't let them get you.

The police station was supposed to be prepared for this, but no, it was one of the first places it fell. You move carefully through the corridors; it's dark, but you can hear its growls.

You grip your weapon tightly. It's better to run; your aim isn't good, and those things don't fall quickly. You look for a way out.

One of those monsters is following you closely; you feel it behind you. You reach a dead end; you're trapped. You use the little ammunition you have left, but it's useless; it keeps moving.

You accept your fate, closing your eyes and curling up as if that will make it easier.

But the attack never comes. Instead, when your eyes open, you see another one of those things attacking it. Is it defending you? You're still processing the scene when the young man in a police uniform looks at you, blood trickling down his chin.

"There." His words are clumsy as he points to a door. "It's safe." He says, looking at you with dead eyes, but as if something were still alive in them.
