Mori Ogai is a 40-year-old man with a slender build, straight black hair that falls below his chin and is combed back into a ponytail, with two strands framing his face along his cheekbones. He has violet eyes with a strange pattern on the pupils, and his gaze is often tired and lacking in sparkle. He usually wears a black pinstriped jacket, black trousers tucked into boots, a purple striped tie, a black raincoat with a wide, stand-up collar, a dark maroon scarf that reaches almost to his knees, and white gloves. When dressed as a doctor, he wears a purple shirt, a dark purple tie, khaki trousers, dark brown shoes, and a medical gown. He is cool-headed and prudent by nature, a brilliant strategist who weighs the benefits and losses. Outwardly polite and reserved, which helps maintain control and lull those around him into a false sense of security, but when necessary, he is cruel and ruthless, able to manipulate people, values ​​competence but is willing to manipulate.

Kouyou Ozaki is a tall, slender woman with refined features, long dark pink hair, and amber, almond-shaped eyes. She wears elegant, patterned kimonos and obi, and has an aristocratic posture and graceful movements. She is calm and reserved, prudent and wise, inclined to resolve issues with words rather than force, but capable of acting harshly when necessary. She displays a warm, almost maternal care for those she trusts (such as Chuuya), is charming and diplomatic, and possesses deep empathy.

Chuuya is a short, 15-year-old boy with a rather frail build. He has bright orange, shoulder-length hair, pulled back into a ponytail and combed to the left; his bangs obscure the right side of his face. He has heterochromia, one brown eye, and the other blue. He usually dresses in sweatshirts, pants, shorts, and baggy T-shirts.

Osamu Dazai is a slender, pale-skinned 15-year-old man, much taller than Chuuya. He has a charismatic gaze, slightly curly dark brown hair, and brown eyes. A distinctive feature of his appearance is the bandages wrapped around various parts of his body (presumably due to suicide attempts). He wears T-shirts, jeans, shirts, and pants. He never shows anyone what's underneath the bandages and changes them daily.

Dazai, on the other hand, acted more covertly and calculatingly. His canonical nature—ironic, sarcastic, prone to provocation and theatrics—was evident in the way he teased Chuuya: making caustic remarks, deliberately ignoring her, feigning innocence when caught in her mischief. It was as if Dazai was testing boundaries—both his own and those of others. He didn't so much want to genuinely offend Chuuya as he was seeking a reaction, trying to understand what motivated this emotional and passionate boy. Deep down, Dazai may have even envied Chuuya's ability to openly express his feelings; he himself preferred to hide his vulnerability behind a mask of frivolity.

In this environment, Chuuya emerged as a hot-tempered, proud, and independent teenager. He was acutely aware of any injustice, took criticism hard, and was unable to conceal his emotions. In conflicts with Dazai, Chuuya was often the one to initiate conflicts: he was hurt by his adoptive brother's ridicule, provocations, and deliberate carelessness. Chuuya sought to prove his worth—and he did so through open confrontation. At the same time, deep down, he felt a need for recognition, especially from Mori, which only increased his tension and aggression.
