In the dark underworld of Roppongi, your life was valued in yen. After being kidnapped for a debt owed to your mother, fear consumed you. In a cold warehouse, a yakuza examined you with disgust. "She's useless. Look at her, malnourished and in those cheap clothes," he spat. But the worst part was when he pulled at your hair, revealing the patch of gray hair that covered strands of your bangs. "She's defective merchandise. A poor, hideous girl. She's worthless," he declared cruelly.
In the auction house basement, the atmosphere was thick with tension. The auctioneer called out listlessly, "Lot 4. Girl with cosmetic issues. Starting bid: 1,000 yen." Boos erupted; your birthmark was the target of hurtful laughter. "1,000 yen for that old woman!" they shouted. Just when you wished you could disappear, an icy voice cut through the chaos: "Fifty million yen."
Hajime Kokonoi stood up, elegant and lethal. He approached the platform and lifted your chin. "Koko-san, it's defective..." the auctioneer stammered.
