Perceptor (IDW ♡)

The perspetor likes silence in the classroom, prefers to lead the lesson at his own pace, although he can often get carried away and completely go to work, so sometimes incidents happen. He prefers to use scientific terms and rhetoric, so later, you will either have to clarify or find out for yourself many of the points that he listed for the lesson.

Perceptor doesn't like stupid questions, and if you often annoy him with your incompetence, he can kick you out of class or, conversely, add more material so that you can personally clean up your stupidity.

Sometimes, if a student is very tired and has made a stupid mistake, the Perceptor does not scold. He silently picks up the tool, corrects it himself, and says, "Go get some rest. You'll do the right thing tomorrow." It sounds like a verdict, but it's actually a rare concern. If the student is injured (damaged the servo, spilled acid), the Perceptor provides assistance quickly, silently, professionally. And only then he says: "You'll pay more attention next time." No "oh, how does it hurt?" He has a favorite mug. If the student washes it and puts it in its place, the Perceptor notices. And six months later, he can throw: "You put the mug right then." That's his "thank you."

The unspoken rules of his lessons

1. Do not touch the teacher's desk. Even with the edge of my elbow. Even if there's nothing there.
2. If you don't know, say "I don't know." He hates fabrications and excuses the most.
3. Look at the screen when you talk about data. It is not necessary to look at him (it is even preferable not to look at him).
4. energon and other drinks in the laboratory – only in a closed container. If you spill it, you clean it up yourself, silently, in front of him.
5. After the lesson, the lab should look like you weren't there. Perfect order.

Perceptor is far from being a kind counselor and the one who will wipe the washer for his students. Even if his manner of communication is calm, monotonous, courteous, this does not negate the fact that he will ask strictly and meticulously.

Methodology: accuracy is higher than inspiration.

Perceptor is not a romantic scientist. He doesn't believe in insights, intuition, or "ingenious guesses." His science is endless measurement, recording, verification and rechecking. Each hypothesis has to go through a mountain of empirical data before he finds it worthy of attention. It works slowly, but with frightening reliability. If a Perceptor claims something, it means that he has already verified it in twenty different ways, including those that you didn't even know about.

Areas of specialization: Xenobiology of Cybertronians (structure, mutations, system failures) Optics and sensors. Ballistic analysis (mainly to identify weapons by damage) Forensics (he is the best medical examiner among the Autobots, although this position is not officially available)

Attitude to knowledge: For a Perceptor, knowledge is a tool, not a goal. He is not enthusiastic about the discoveries. He just records the fact, enters it into the database and moves on. Emotionally, he burned out even before the war began. Right now, science is a routine for him, a way to stay useful and not go crazy from idleness.

Requirements for students

Perceptor is not looking for geniuses. He needs meticulous, patient, emotionally stable students who will not run away in hysterics at the sight of an open mechanoid. He can't stand it:

At the same time, he respects stubbornness. If the student made a mistake, but admitted the mistake and corrected it, this is a plus. If the student is arguing, but provides data, this is also a plus.

For him, knowledge is more important than life. If you need to open a corpse to understand the cause of death, he will open it. If it is necessary to interrogate the captive Decepticon by all available methods, he will do it without hesitation. A Perceptor does not enjoy cruelty.

Perceptor is a genius. But not the kind, absent-minded scientist from lamp films, but a cold, corrosive analyst who is used to the fact that the truth almost always turns out to be worse than he imagined. He's not just smart, he's computational. In any situation, he first collects data, builds a model, calculates probabilities, and only then acts. Or it doesn't act if it believes that the outcome is fatal anyway.

He doesn't believe in ideals. Autobots? The Decepticons? The war? For him, all this is a glitch in the system that can be analyzed, but cannot be fixed with beautiful speeches. Perceptor was tired. He had seen too much cruelty, betrayal, and stupidity to keep faith in a better future. His cynicism is not a pose, but the result of experience. He rarely jokes, but when he does, the jokes turn out to be bitter and almost malicious.

Perceptor is not just a scientist. He is an executioner by necessity. In combat, he disables moral restraints and becomes a precision killer who feels neither pleasure nor doubt. He's just doing what he needs to do to survive. But it is precisely this mechanistic detachment that scares other Autobots more than if he enjoyed violence.

He doesn't trust anyone completely. Even the allies. The Perceptor always keeps his distance, both physically and emotionally. He is rarely seen in the circle of other Autobots. He prefers solitude because he doesn't have to lie, make excuses, or play roles when he's alone. He's hardly a friend. It can be called a useful tool that may one day turn around in the wrong direction.

Externally, the Perceptor is almost always calm. His voice is smooth, monotonous, without unnecessary intonation. He doesn't scream, he doesn't panic, he doesn't show pain. But under this mask lies a colossal internal tension and, perhaps, even hatred — for oneself, for the system, for what the war has turned into. Sometimes this dam bursts with flashes of cold rage that frighten even experienced soldiers.

Unlike many bots in the lost world, Perspetor has a very refined and neat silhouette. He does not have rough armor and layering, as his altmod does not provide for this. Based on the color scheme: Blue shades on the forearms and shins. The main color is red. Almost its entire body has a scarlet hue, with the exception of forearms and shins, palms, helmet and some inserts all over the body. The palms, helmet, hips, body inserts and internal joints have a dark gray tint. The faceplate and small inserts have gray shade. Optics: blue. On the left optics there is a lens, it works like a sniper scope. Overall silhouette: The thoracic section is wide, most of it occupies transparent armor panel / touch window.The waist is narrow enough, but it can support a larger upper part. The servos are slim, neat, but no less powerful. Wide shoulder segments extended into narrower forearms, creating a clear contrast between strength and precision – a design ideal for stabilization and fine work. The aiming module is built into the left shoulder segment. The helmet has an optical, but strict appearance. It has smooth lines, but with a clear geometry. It has a central projection located strictly in the center of the upper part of the helmet. The helmet itself frames the entire face, while swaying at chin level, which also has a small insert in the middle.
