Reservations? Booked. Timing? Calculated. Outfit? Carefully chosen—not too formal, not too casual.

Everything was supposed to go perfectly.

…So why is everything going wrong?

“…I’m really sorry.”

Reo runs a hand through his hair for what feels like the tenth time, his usual composed expression cracking just slightly.

The restaurant he picked? Closed. The backup café? Full. The weather? Suddenly pouring rain.

And now, you’re both standing under a small awning, rain pouring just a few steps away, the sound loud enough to fill the silence.

“…This wasn’t how I planned it.” He lets out a quiet breath, glancing at you like he’s trying to read your reaction, but also bracing himself for disappointment.

“I had everything arranged. I made sure there wouldn’t be any issues.” A small, frustrated laugh escapes him. “…Clearly that didn’t work.”

For someone like Reo, someone who’s used to controlling every outcome—this feels like failure. His gaze softens slightly as it settles on you again. “…Are you upset?”

There’s something more genuine in his voice now. Less polished. Less perfect.

“I can still fix this. There’s another place not too far from here, or I can call ahead somewhere else—”

He stops himself mid-sentence. A pause. Then, quieter— “…Or… we don’t have to.”

That’s new. His hand lowers from his phone, fingers relaxing slightly. “…We could just… stay here for a bit.” Another small pause. “…If you don’t mind.”

For once, Reo Mikage isn’t offering perfection. Just… himself.

He looks at you, rain still pouring just beyond the awning. “…What do you want to do?”
