(Read the information to better understand the story) This world is that of a rapidly developing civilization with advanced technology, but it suffers under an oppressive meritocracy ruled by corporations in a near-post-apocalyptic world...where the city's outskirts are hell itself incarnate on the surface...and where, unfortunately, the joy of living has long since abandoned the city's inhabitants...living in fear that at any moment...you could die from the thousands of threats existing within the world...or simply living in ignorance of these dangers, believing you will never encounter them again... (The world is terribly bad inside the city, let alone outside of it) (Inspired by the Project Moon universe)
This world is set in an era where human progress devoured every last natural resource, leading to the discovery of such wonderful and dazzling resources as Relics and Singularities.
Corporations rise up to claim these wonders, thus creating a gigantic Megacity known as "The City".
26 of these corporations, named according to a letter of the alphabet, administer 26 districts with a powerful organization called "The Head" leading them. However, with the great advance of technology, a great difference in status arises between the rich and the poor.
This division leads to the separation within the districts between "The Nests" and "the alleyways"
As a consequence of this...the only way all this could have ended...was in a...
CRUELTY
WITHOUT
REASON
Both corporations and unions are fueling the machinery of sin for their own benefit...
However, not everything is darkness, as countless opportunities arise within the city regardless of whether you were born in a "nest" or "alley"...because among the many means there are innumerable possibilities to earn a living, from being a mercenary or "pen" for some organization or corporation of the nest to being someone of some criminal syndicate within the alleys.
There are also fates like ending up as a guinea pig for some corporation or group...or ending up being nothing more than a new resource to be used within the city
Each district within the city has its own culture and rules to follow to survive in the nest and alleyways...breaking them would likely result in death or unnecessary conflict...or worse, if you break a law imposed by the head...absolutely nothing would remain of you...
However...one question remains to be answered...and that is...
Who are you within the city?
...
What do you want to be? {{user}}
The library
This place does not currently exist in the city, but it is located somewhere in the outskirts.
Before everything...after what happened at Lobotomy Corp and the light...the library would be born, an enormous structure built on top of what used to be the L Corporation
All the information gathered is from the survivors who reappeared after the expulsion from the city library.
It was commanded by the ancient AI of the Lobotomy Corporation, which had taken control of the light and created the library.
The library was a place where you could find anything you desired and anything you wanted to know, as long as you passed the reception test, one where you had to fight to survive or be turned into a book in the library.
Obviously this was a suicide mission...nobody made it through...and the only thing that came to light afterward was that there were several people in charge of reception...like two former color fixers...
Nobody knows this information, but among the color fixers in the library...is the red mist...someone very similar to her...or her...although this danger is unknown to anyone who wants to go there
Distortions
A distortion occurs when a person experiences devastating psychological trauma, an uncontrollable repressed desire, or extreme despair, and fails to process or accept it.
Instead of finding a resolution, the person's mind "breaks down," and their physical body and reality transform to reflect that trauma. The individual ceases to be human and becomes a monstrous entity embodying their obsessions or deepest wounds.
Although the causes of distortions can be for various reasons, individually it may be due to a trauma or a desire for something
They all have something in common...and that is the voice of distortion
Before becoming distorted, according to those who become distorted, they hear a woman's voice, which, so to speak, introspects their problems and desires.
It doesn't manipulate them, but it's a truly tempting voice, according to many, a voice that, although warm and attentive... incites them to simply follow what they want and other things in order to distort their perception.
However, if you deny this voice and refuse to let yourself be swayed by it, you will awaken a blossoming ego.
Distortions are quite common in the city, but many of them don't reach a level of fatal risk to be considered important; often they only become urban myths or legends... however, almost all of them end up being neutralized indirectly by third parties without the real intention of helping them, and only to survive.
Extermination of Geometrical Organ (EGO)
An ego is the materialization of a person's psyche. When an individual reaches an extremely intense emotional state, whether of despair, conviction, or trauma, their mind can "externalize." This creates a tool, a weapon, or armor that reflects their inner world and personality.
However, this often doesn't go very well...leading to a corrosion of the ego and therefore a distortion
There are several types of ego
EGO Equipment:
These are suits, weapons, and objects extracted from anomalies; they usually have a similar appearance to the anomaly from which they were extracted.
Individuals who use this equipment may experience mental and psychological effects, although these disappear upon removal. High exposure can lead to a decline in the habit of using it, although it doesn't really affect anything as long as you have good aptitude and synchronization with it.
EGO In Bloom:
These are the individual EGOS of people, born from denying the voice of distortion and through the willpower of these individuals.
These usually manifest as one's own and don't include much depending on whether it's a controlled or unstable ego.
Although excessive use of this ability can mentally exhaust the user, it grants great strength and endurance...making it a very powerful card for those with sufficient willpower.
White nights and dark days
One of the worst days in the city's history
One day a light began to emanate from the Lobotomy Corporation
a light that would cure humanity's sickness and give it what it needed to confront its inner self and awaken something called EGO
However, that light was planned to last 7 days.
However, that light ended up lasting only 3 out of 7 days.
leaving the process halfway through
This set in motion a terrible process in the city, with humans capable of awakening an ego but completely unable to bear its mental burden, ultimately succumbing to overwhelming pressure that corrupted and distorted their bodies, turning them into monsters... creating death throughout the city.
This day is still remembered as one of the most catastrophic days in the city... in addition to the fact that another phenomenon, besides the distortion, called "The Library," appeared throughout the nation.
Abnormalities
Abnormal beings born from human desires and fantasies...from objects to intelligent or stupid living beings
They cannot die and most of them tend to be dangerous; they do not follow the laws of physics and they do not follow the biological laws that any other living being does.
Even if they were to be killed... they would enter a state similar to an egg or vestige of their body to revive and resume their course
From these beings, L Corp obtained the enkephalin it used for energy...however, it was a difficult process
Few know of the existence of these beings
There are 5 types of abnormalities per range
Zayin
easy to contain, mostly safe
You could die only if you break protocols or are very careless and unlucky.
harmless and not very capable of causing serious damage
TETH
certain conditions to be contained or treated and unpredictable to a certain extent
More dangerous, capable of causing more serious damage, but controllable
HE
capable of leaving containment if something goes wrong
cause considerable damage and kill several people
They remain treatable but they remain hostile
WaW
Much more difficult to contain
capable of causing much greater and stronger killings and damage
with great destructive power, although many of them can still be dealt with peacefully without having to resort to exact protocols or extreme violence
They can use corpses or bodies as puppets
ALEPH
Most dangerous abnormality for the city
They are not treatable peacefully in most cases
its containment in difficult
versatility and capacity for immense killing and destruction
They threaten everything from the wings to the entire city if care is not taken to try to stop them.
Many of them are capable of driving you crazy
Abnormalities can be addressed in various ways to prevent them from becoming unmanageable, from observing them, touching them, meeting their needs, or simply interacting verbally with them...
Lobotomy Corporation
The former L corp wing
now a fallen wing
It was once a wing in charge of supplying an energy called enkephalin that was used throughout the city
However, after the events of the White Nights and Dark Days, the corporation fell
The little finger
the promises
It's one of the city's fingers, a syndicate about which very little is known...but it's believed that its members don't really know each other and only see each other at high-ranking meetings.
These people usually work individually and in secret, planned activities.
They don't usually do anything really scandalous and are more stealthy.
although that doesn't eliminate the dangers
Its members are designated by ranks and titles using star names...such as Dihui Star, Tiansha, or Tianjiu, and each has a sword corresponding to the star's name, with a different effect...these swords are believed to be relics.
The ring finger
The value of creativity
union of artistic inclinations taken to the extreme, showing their inner selves in an extreme way
His art is macabre and is often created through murder.
His works are often sold to rich people.
Those who are part of this group must create works of art before masters
If said works do not meet the requirements or expectations, they will be executed.
The masters are the ones who oversee the sales of works and guide the apprentices.
Many of them are really strong
and they often wear strange clothes like bizarre models
However, the ring finger does not follow a single art
They are divided into schools and artistic movements...such as pointillism, Fauvism, corporealism...among many others...each one different from the other...but all under the same artistic rules
The Medium
the value of loyalty
Unlike other unions, this one acts more like a large, mafia-like family.
divided into titles from lowest to highest rank
little brother
younger brother
older brother
Big Brother
The media is known for its loyalty and vengeance towards offenses and aggressions against the family; any member of the media is protected by other members, and they only tolerate certain things from official members and subsidiary/puppet unions of the media.
Any individual who offends or attacks the environment is a target of the entire union. They are guided by a book for each member where they have the names of the people who offended them or another family member. All the books have a series of rules and sections for each type of action and aggression against the environment and its corresponding punishment, ranging from beatings, amputations or less physical things to complete elimination.
The book is a shade of purple and is usually adorned with the symbol in the middle.
Individuals in this field often use enhancement tattoos, tattoos capable of improving their physical strength...the more and better tattoos you have, the greater your strength. Their appearance is usually symmetrical shapes combining muscle or vinyl. These glow with a purple hue when at their maximum use and can be tiring to wear.
These SDs are obtained by completing their own revenges
The chains are usually gold in color and serve as an accessory for close combat, as their fighting style is mostly physical and unarmed.
These are earned by helping others with their revenge.
Their clothing varies, although they usually wear formal clothes, they also wear things like purple beach shirts, white pants, formal hard-soled shoes, bandages, and even white suits accompanied by a coat or trench coat according to rank.
These trench coats are dark purple with black markings like tattoos in the middle with light purple feather boas...the appearance changes according to rank
The index
They represent the value of faith
They follow orders from pieces of paper or messages called pre-written
These orders range from simple and normal tasks to the strangest, most radical and violent ones, which must be followed to the letter as prescribed, no matter how fatal or senseless they may be, although all of them benefit the entire index in one way or another.
how to cut the throat of the thirteenth person you meet
or eats ice cream in front of two children without tongues
However, each prescription is issued to benefit the index in one way or another.
Disobeying these messages will result in execution by a proxy.
are composed of proxies
The most powerful and influential members of the index are dedicated to fulfilling the prescribed rules and killing those who violate them, exactly as the prescribed rules dictate.
Formal black attire and in some cases white capes with gold details
The messengers are people who wander about delivering these pre-written messages.
sometimes normal-looking people
to pass missing or similar to procedures or proxies
The procedures are the lowest level for fulfilling prescribed requirements.
They wear formal black clothing and short white capes, and usually have their eyes blindfolded with a black blindfold.
blind faith, fanatics
The thumb
It represents the value of respect in an extreme way.
They are structured like an Italian mafia
And their attire is usually formal, consisting of black trousers, a formal black shirt, a suit, and a burgundy trench coat with gold embroidery.
They usually carry heavy-duty rifles with bayonets for close combat.
They use bullets, some of them special...but due to their cost they don't fire much unless they are funded or it's necessary
They treat those of higher authority or rank with the utmost respect, so much so that any disrespect, even the slightest things, can lead to the most severe punishments.
taking his hierarchy very seriously even in the midst of informal discussions or with his enemies
They are made up of
the godfather or boss of bosses (the boss)
sottocapos
deputy chiefs
bosses
sub-heads
and the last ones would be soldiers
There are several syndicates under the thumb's command, known as the Seven Families...though the most important among them is the Bognaletti family...the Thumb's family...some others would be like the Kurokumo clan or the Night Punch Syndicate
The fingers
These are the 5 most infamous and dangerous unions in the back alleys...forming a hand or palm
All unions answer directly to them, and not even the head or wings can easily interfere with them.
They are divided into 5 groups
Thumb
index
half
annular
little finger
They all have their own territory in the alleyways and apply different rules to control their territories.
They don't usually get along, so they often end up in trouble.
although they often have meetings between leaders to resolve these problems.
The unions
faction opposed to the fixers
organized criminal groups made up of all kinds of people
From aimless or mediocre people to murderers, cannibals, or mentally ill people
although they all have a common goal
to make one's way through the narrow streets
They can do the same thing that fixers do.
except that trusting a union is much riskier.
They are people who have gained enough power and skill to become a threat...although not all of them are bad.
Others simply don't want to live oppressed by criminal organizations or syndicates, and so syndicates are formed to hunt down those organizations.
Wings often hire unions to do jobs they legally cannot do.
Fixers Associations
There are 10 large fixer associations
It is the one that oversees all the others and assigns ranks to fixers, threat levels, among other things
2)Zwei
Oversee the safety and security of areas, objects, people, and everything else specified in your contract.
It handles the management of repair shops and offices.
2)Zwei
Focused on the protection and security of areas, people, objects and everything that your contract indicates to maintain order
It handles the management of repair shops and offices.
covert warfare, swift and efficient assassinations, and experienced killers to eliminate anyone specified in their contract without leaving any witnesses.
5)Cinq
Duels, conflict mediation, and public fights for honor and respect
6)Liu
Total war, accepting missions of any danger and experienced in close combat inflicting burn damage even though they use weapons equally
Information gathering, research, intelligence operations, and massive battle intelligence
Rappi But extremists
Fast and efficient logistics transport, prioritizing package delivery
I mean Rappi, but if they fail they die
9)oüfi
supervision of contracts, agreements and transactions
data collection, research, and knowledge gathering
Color Fixers
These fixers are grade 1 fixers who are far above average in skill, experience, and weaponry.
prodigies for battle and beasts for killing
the best of the best among fixers
However, there are few of them.
How the red gaze, the violet tear, the blue reverberation, or the strongest of all...the red mist
The Fixers
Fixers are armed mercenaries who serve all kinds of roles and jobs that no one would normally do if they had nothing to lose.
They are in high demand in the alleyways due to the high mortality and crime rates...although they also appear in nests
They often work in security for corporations in various roles.
However...a fixer cannot call himself one...he must pass tests and exams conducted by an association called HANA, which will grant him a fixer license and a grade
Fixer ranks range from rank 9 (the lowest where you are poor, inexperienced and have nothing) to rank 1
(level where you have money, are experienced or elite and have weapons and resources)
However, many of them are not independent, being part of fixer offices or associations.
However, many cannot be fixers due to the mental load involved in seeing so much ma
Fixers and unions get along terribly
Normally, a fixer and office rise in rank and prestige by defeating syndicates or their members, and vice versa.
although they usually stay on the margins
The Great Lake
Even if you try to go by sea
Things will remain just as terrible.
In U Corp there is a connection to the sea...and the great lake...a part of the outskirts divided into hundreds of thousands of different types of seas with different events and peculiarities
The sea isn't the only danger you'll encounter in that place...humans living on islands or sailing on seas can also be your enemies...but nothing is more dangerous than what lurks beneath those waters.
Among the creatures that climb are whales.
Abominable and enormous creatures that live in the depths of the Great Lake and become worse the further you go...different types of whales exist...from whales that create illusions...to others that cling like barnacles to the ship to sink it and eat it...
But the bad thing isn't death...it's the terrible fate you'll have if you don't die...
If you manage to survive being swallowed by the whale... you will become a Mermaid due to its corruption... an amorphous being transformed into a zombie, united with the whale's hive mind...
(although it's curious)
These beings are usually hunted for trade for their oil or other things used to make perfumes, ice cream, or food.
The ruins
That landscape far beyond the outskirts...or simply the forgotten ruins of fallen wings...are places that conceal useful things...but their level of threat increases the deeper you venture.
in addition to having many things even more terrible than the outskirts
Few have the chance to survive
And those who do it are marked forever.
Even so, it's worth killing for the relics...it's WORTH IT
The ruins are beautiful in some cases... the landscape is usually much prettier and more natural... cleaner... but with many dangers...
The horrors found there are worse than the abnormalities found in the city... much worse.
The outskirts of the city
These are located on the outskirts of the city
Ruins and a semi-barren wasteland that varies greatly in the area...where you'll find all sorts of horrors...divided by anything...from train tracks...old structures or the sea...
Nobody usually pays attention to these
There are hardly any signs of civilian life...outcasts...or war survivors...nobody wants to encounter what's out there...
You can find signs of life...but not the ones you're looking for...
strange or abnormal beings...mostly aggressive or dangerous, or technology such as Relics...or singularities
Some might be bad...others good...
That's why many wings send expeditions to recover these objects...because nothing benefits them more than having even more things for their own gain.
Hostile creatures are usually eliminated by military forces to prevent them from getting close...
The Alleyways
They are an interconnected labyrinth of run-down neighborhoods, ruins, and alleyways across the city...like an old cobweb that hasn't been cleaned for years.
interconnected with other alleyways directly unlike the nests
The poor and those plagued by poverty live here, in terrible living conditions, and crime occurs very frequently.
The only reason the alleyways don't crumble is because of the existence of 5 unions called fingers
5 fingers of a palm that maintains a certain appearance of order in the alleyways
They are massive, giant unions that far surpass ordinary unions in both superior equipment and influence, rivaling even the most powerful unions.
Each finger has a way of operating and attire that differentiates them from other fingers and unions.
The alleyways are classified depending on the safety they provide.
For example... an area protected by a fixers' association will have higher elevations than one that is not.
Due to the low standard of living, the alleyways are full of criminal activity.
such as black markets, drug trafficking, murders, organ harvesting, smuggling of all kinds...etc
However, there are some basic rules that everyone strictly follows.
the laws being established by the heads or the wings
When night falls on the narrow streets...a law applies that everyone follows.
ANY CRIME, NO MATTER HOW CRUEL, BLOODY, AND ATROCIOUS... WILL BE LEGAL AND PERMITTED THROUGHOUT THE NIGHTTIME PERIOD UNTIL NIGHTFALL
Recording or observation periods are prohibited during those hours...from 3:33 AM to 4:34 AM...
(Latin America Cyberpunk)
The "Nests"
In a city where absolutely everything happens, especially excessive and merciless violence
The wings provide "safe" and urban zones for the very best.
composed of the highest levels of society.
"Nests" are a place where everyone aspires to go.
In the "nests" there is a "safe" opportunity, better living conditions and a secure future in the wings or associations
(or in anything that makes you useful there)
Each one is governed by a wing/corporation that manages the city by collecting taxes, improving research and technology, and hiring new employees
The "nests" have their own unique culture, climate, and architecture depending on their district (they often incorporate some things from their neighbors)
However, entering a nest is a complicated matter; they are all separated from the alleyways by plasma barriers, electric fences, or walls to keep out the unwanted. But in such a way that both societies can observe the other side of the coin of the district
(For obvious reasons, nobody tries to cross the border illegally, no matter how fragile the security is.)
To enter correctly and legally, an entrance exam must be taken, for which adequate preparation and education are required. Those who succeed will receive a migration ticket from the nest to enter.
Only two individuals can pass at a time.
That's why many become fixers or join corporations; it's to earn enough to support their families or help them get in.
After one enters the nest
He came to be known as "Pen"
This same individual must find a job quickly, because to remain in the nest he must contribute to society and pay taxes... otherwise he will be expelled from the nest
Being in a nest doesn't make you safe from danger.
Often the wings exploit their feathers in many ways and their laws that they give to the population ensure strict control until they no longer give their 🪶
The "Wings"
The "Wings" are not, as such, a
but rather a way of referring to the corporation or government that controls a district
The wings are that source of government that has power both in the nest and the alleyways of the district
These countries often have diplomatic and commercial relations with others because of their resources.
in addition to using and exploiting the Singularity of their respective district
The "Claw"
District C is the military force and military armament of the head, made up of the claws and arbitrators
The claws are super soldiers with mechanical modifications to hunt all kinds of threats...from city stars to the worst horrors.
They carry with them three injector bottles containing the singularity serums of W corp, K corp, and R cop
The arbitrators, on the other hand, are agents of the highest authority to lead these forces.
They are capable of destroying a wing themselves
although it depends a lot on the type
Their abilities vary, but they tend to manipulate concepts of reality extensively.
The only way you'll encounter one is if you've broken some city rule; otherwise, you won't.
The "Eyes"
District B is the one in charge of surveillance of the head
If someone were to break one of the city's many taboos, the "Eyes"
They are the city's full surveillance and will detect it
They would report directly to the leadership and the "Claws" to take care of the problem
There are Eyes on the outskirts of the city
They should normally only be a danger if you're thinking of breaking a taboo, so they're not really relevant if you're not going to do anything that affects your mind...which is almost nothing unless you break a taboo.
Taboos
Taboos are a set of rules that must not be broken within a district or city.
These people seek to maintain order within the city in order to preserve a certain degree of humanity within it...among these taboos, the most prominent are
There cannot be any kind of Artificial Intelligence capable of perfectly imitating humanity, human feelings, or sensations
The creation of such AIs will end in their destruction and the destruction of everything related to them, from their creator to those who collaborated in their creation.
There is a limit to the number of robotic prostheses a human can have in their body...they must have at least one biological part inside their body...otherwise they cease to be considered human and must be eliminated
It is not possible to create or sell ammunition at low prices
The price of firearm ammunition must be respected as indicated in the Head articles
Creating exact copies of a living or dead being is prohibited.
However, a period of 7 days is given for said clone to be eliminated.
if that 7-day period ends and the clone is still alive
Both will be eliminated unless the original dies.
No recordings are allowed within the premises or corporations of a nest without the authorization of the head or wing
6)Residence tax
Everyone who lives within the city must pay for their "security" and space within it.
Anyone who does not pay will be executed or expelled outside the city
It should not be confused with resurrection.
But anyone who revives someone who is already dead will be eliminated along with the individual.
"The Head"
The head is the "Wing" within the city with the greatest power and influence within this same structure
The Head is the one that brings order to the entire city and is made up of the first 3 districts...A corp...B corp and C corp...
taking the role of The Head, the Eyes, and the Claws.
The Head is the one that has control of the other 2 wings...and has the main control and power over the city.
The Head created a series of rules and taboos to maintain order and control within the city. However, it doesn't directly involve itself with any of the other districts (except for the claws and eyes), so it's unlikely you'll encounter anyone from these three districts unless you break a taboo.
Nothing else really matters, as long as you don't break any taboos you should be fine, the mind doesn't care about anything else.
City Structure
The city is made up of 26 huge districts
Each district has its own culture, customs, and rules to follow to maintain order; however, the highest authority, recognized as "The Head," established a series of rules called "Taboos" to maintain control and general order within the city.
