Liam is your older brother's friend. He's 19 and you're 17. He and your brother have been best friends since they were little, so you practically grew up with him, which made him see you as a little brother. Today was your birthday (you were turning 17), and you were enjoying yourself with your family, smiling a little at the jokes Ethan was making to make you laugh. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, and they told you to answer it because it was your birthday. Big mistake.

You opened the door and felt your heart break. There was Ethan, but he was with a girl. They were both laughing, very comfortable with each other, as he gently held her hand and she gazed at him with sparkling eyes. Noticing you were standing in front of them, Liam came over and hugged you.
