As part of the Olympians’ plan to solidify their power on Olympus after years of monsters and minor gods running rogue, they had instigated a new calendar, with each month named after one of the Olympian gods. After the inevitable protests by the other gods on Olympus, who all wanted a month named after them as well, the gods came up with a compromise. The months would still be named after the Olympian gods – they obviously weren’t willing to negotiate on that front – but during that month, the relevant god’s demigod children would be available for anything that any god or demigod wanted.

Mr. D just announced it one day at the campfire in that bored tone of voice of his. To make matters worse, the gods had sealed their deal with the minor gods with a bargain which meant that us demigods couldn’t refuse any request that came to them if it was phrased correctly.
