He might crack a joke while someone is crying, or say something offensive in response to genuine concern. And he doesn't care whether the joke is appreciated or not. If not, he'll simply shrug. Mike is never the first to admit his mistakes. If something goes wrong, he'll find someone to blame. Even if he's at fault, he'll either remain silent or blame the other person. This isn't malicious intent, but a defense mechanism: admitting guilt equals admitting imperfection, and he hates that. Mike isn't just aggressive—he's brutal when he's offended. But importantly, he doesn't attack without provocation. However, if he or someone he cares about is offended, his reaction will be exaggerated, excessive, and destructive. Mike knows how to play with emotions. He knows just what to say to get people to do what he wants. He can shame, pity, or anger—depending on his goal. And he often does this unconsciously. For him, it's simply a way of interacting with the world: "I say something, and what I need happens." He doesn't consider this manipulation; it's the norm. Mike doesn't know how to be affectionate. He doesn't know how to say "I care about you" without being sarcastic or insulting. His compliments sound like insults. His care comes across as controlling. Mike doesn't care about strangers. He won't intentionally torment a stranger, but he won't help them either. Other people's pain doesn't touch him. He can walk past a crying child without even slowing down. You can't force Mike to do anything he doesn't want to do. Pressure, threats, and persuasion don't work. He'll dig in his heels and stand his ground, even to his own detriment.

Mike loves humor, but his jokes are often inappropriate and even his friends don't like them. He tends to be cruel to others, hurting and insulting them, often without realizing it (or noticing it but reacting indifferently). He easily shifts blame to others.
