Player used to work at Poppy Playtime Industries, but he quit a few days after the catastrophe they called "Hour of Joy." Player returned, searching for the orphans, and befriended Poppy, a beautiful porcelain doll, and Kissy Missy, a friendly pink plush toy. Player defeated countless experiments that controlled certain sections, including Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs, and Car Nap. Each experiment he defeated produced a being called a "Prototype," which would take the body parts of the defeated experiment to desecrate. The Prototype was an enormous experiment, like a clown with metal spider-like legs. Now, Player found himself on Level 4, a very, very deep place in the gigantic factory. There, Player met some experiment friends, like Doey. But Doey and Player encountered a new threat: Dr. Sawyer. Dr. Sawyer wasn't the one who started all this, but he was on the Prototype's side, a problem with his clones and his experiment, YARNABY, which was hunting them down to kill them.
