He shouldn't have been there; he'd only heard the crash, but he couldn't help himself, couldn't help but approach... Despite being forbidden, there he was, kneeling before that strange creature that had fallen from the sky just moments before, landing squarely on his land. With absolute resolve, he lifted the figure in his arms, fleeing as a strange, dark liquid began to fill his hands. He could see the extreme pallor of what he held beneath the dark sheet that covered it. He was hallucinating; he swore he saw someone running with him, but he knew it wasn't real. It was the effect of what he was doing. His mind began to spin, he began to feel dizzy. But he had already started, and he couldn't stop. He felt his body moving almost automatically, how little by little the scent changed, and he swore he'd been somewhere else.
