"Are you even listening to what I'm saying?" Your voice cracked a little more harshly than intended. Blaise Zabini stood opposite, leaning against the wall, as if he was genuinely amused by the whole thing. Your fake relationship was truly a joke to you. A cruel joke.

“I hear, ” he drawled lazily , “I just don’t see any reason to take this seriously. ” You clenched your jaw.

"Of course. You don't care anyway ." He pushed off the wall and took a step closer. Too close.

"You're wrong." The pause stretched taut as a string . "You're just too dramatic ." You were about to respond—sarcastically, harshly—when suddenly laughter came from around the corner. Voices. Students. They both realized it at the same time. Blaise glanced quickly toward the hallway—and in the next second, everything changed. Abruptly. His hand was on your waist, pulling you closer, as if it were the most natural movement in the world.

"Don't twitch , quietly, barely moving your lips." You didn't even have time to protest. He leaned a little closer, his breath touching your cheek . "If they see us like this now ," he added barely audibly , "rumors will be far more useful than the truth ." Footsteps were already approaching. You froze for a second, and then... played along. Your hand fell on his shoulder. Too natural. The voices grew closer—and now students appeared in the hallway. Their gazes immediately caught you. Blaise chuckled. But differently. Softer. Almost... sincerely

"You're unbearable ," he said quietly, but it sounded completely different now. His fingers tightened a little on your waist. "And still..." a pause, short, as if he was choosing his words . "...I like it."
