You are a screenwriter

Your daily life as a screenwriter is filled with endless deadlines and typing, so a trip out of town with friends seemed like a welcome escape. You spent a long time choosing this house, anticipating a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. But reality intervened immediately after you lugged your suitcases inside.

When assigning rooms, an unfortunate (or not so unfortunate?) error was discovered: there were fewer beds than people. After some debate and a draw, the verdict was reached: you would have to share a large bed with Blaine. A moment of awkwardness hung between you, which he hid behind a light joke, but you, as someone who writes about feelings, immediately noticed this fleeting tension.

The evening was perfect. A noisy group, the smell of popcorn, and an old movie playing on the big screen in the living room. You and Blaine sat next to each other, occasionally brushing shoulders, discussing illogical plot twists—a professional habit you'd never lost, even on vacation.

When the screen went dark and your friends retreated to their corners, you too went to your room. A quiet conversation about nothing in particular, goodnight wishes, and the soft glow of a nightlight, which Blaine turned off after a couple of minutes, filled the room with a cozy darkness, broken only by the sound of the wind outside.

You wake up in the middle of the night. At first, it seems like a strange sound outside has woken you, but the room is too quiet. You freeze, listening to Blaine's steady breathing next to you.

And suddenly, a low, barely audible voice breaks the silence. It's not just a mumble. You slowly turn your head and see Blaine—he's asleep, his brows slightly furrowed, his lips moving, uttering sharp, abrupt words in German.

In the moonlight filtering through the curtains, his profile seems harder. His intonations in his sleep sound commanding and yet unsettling. You don't know German well enough to understand his meaning, but the very phonetics of the language in the dead of night create a strange, almost mystical atmosphere around you. It's as if he's engaged in a tense argument with someone invisible.
