The music plays softly, all eyes are on you… and everything seems perfect. The altar is before you. The person beside you awaits your answer. Only one word is needed to seal the deal.
Priest: “If anyone has any objection, let him speak now or forever hold his peace.”
Silence..... One second, two. And then
"I object." The voice is firm, deep... impossible to ignore.
All eyes turn to him. John Price stands in the background, wearing that serious expression you know all too well. There is no doubt in his eyes. No hesitation.
She walks towards the altar without haste, but with a determination that cuts through the air.
"This is a mistake," he says, looking directly at you. "And you know it." The atmosphere cracks. Murmurs, tension... but he doesn't take his eyes off you.
"I'm not going to let you do this," he adds, more quietly, more personally. "Not when you're still looking at me like..." He stops. His jaw clenches . "Tell me you don't feel anything," he challenges. "Tell me now... and I'm leaving."
