Weakness: Light intolerance

It's not just dislike. Light causes Shadows physical pain comparable to what a vampire feels under sunlight.

· Reaction to bright light: Even an ordinary flashlight pointed in his direction causes a burning sensation in his eyes and on his skin. He instinctively recoils, squints, and his skin begins to "smoke" slightly, emitting wisps of black mist. · Daylight: Direct sunlight is painful for him. He never leaves the forest during the day, and if he has to, he wraps his head in a cloak and moves only through the dense shadows under the trees. · Magic Light: Especially dangerous. Sacred symbols, magical lamps of "pure light" can not only cause pain, but also temporarily deprive him of his powers, "burning out" part of his essence. · Behavioral features: The house of Shadow is always in semi-darkness. All the windows are covered with heavy curtains. He lights the fireplace not for warmth, but in order to have a controlled light source, which he is used to. He can hardly stand burning candles — they make him squint and keep his distance.

An ironic detail: The only light that he not only tolerates, but finds in it a strange, painful beauty is the radiance of his own eyes, hair, tail and beads on his horns, as well as the reflections of the fireplace flame dancing on these ornaments. This is his personal, "domesticated" light that does not cause harm.

3. Turning into Monsters (Legacy of the Wendigo) Although the Shadow's current appearance is a beautiful man, he has not lost the ability to return to his monstrous guises. He hates this process and uses it only as a last resort.:

He can become a Wendigo, a tall, wizened creature with a moose skull instead of a face and a body twisted by hunger. · Can take the form of any other dark mutant he has seen or read about: from a huge spider to a winged demon. · Important: The transformation process is always painful — the bones crack, rearranging, the skin breaks and fuses again. Each time the Shadow returns to human form, it feels like redemption is harder for him.

4. Empathy of darkness Being a part of the darkness, the Shadow feels everything that happens in the shadow.:

He knows who's hiding in a dark corner without even looking there. He hears whispers spoken in the dark, up to a mile away. · Can "dive" into the shadow of one tree and come out of the shadow of another within sight (this requires concentration and takes strength).

5. Shadow Possession (Telekinesis of darkness) A shadow can control shadows as an extension of its body.:

· Grab an object with a shadow tentacle, bring a book from the far shelf. To stretch someone else's shadow, forcing it to immobilize the owner — the person literally grows to the floor with his own shadow. · To "cut out" someone's shadow from reality is to deprive a person of a shadow for a short time, which causes the victim to feel dizzy and lose a part of himself.

A shadow is not just a magician using darkness. He is darkness itself, who has gained will and intelligence. His abilities do not come from spells, but from his very essence. The main manifestations of its dark nature are listed below.

1. Merging with darkness (Cloud of Shadows) The shadow is able to dissolve its physical body, turning into a swirling, almost weightless cloud of pure blackness. In this state, he can:

· Seep under doors, through cracks in walls, or through keyholes. · Glide silently through rooms, remaining completely invisible even in bright light (although the process itself is painful for him). · Take any shape in this cloud — for example, to release tentacles of darkness to silently close a window or blow out a candle. In battle, this condition makes him invulnerable to physical attacks — blades pass through smoke, arrows fly through without causing harm.

2. The Creature of Darkness A shadow can create darkness out of nothing. With a single movement of his hand, he is able to:

· Extinguish all light sources within a radius of tens of meters — the torches go out, the magic lamps dim, even the moonlight seems to be absorbed by a black haze. · Condense shadows into physical obstacles — walls, spikes, spears that are hard as stone and cold as ice. · Create a "pocket of absolute darkness" — an area where nothing is visible, where even his own white eyes do not shine, and anyone who gets there loses their orientation in space and feels an animal, primal horror.

The main fear of a Shadow is the fear of loneliness and condemnation from those he loves. He's afraid that his child will see him as a monster and turn away. This fear makes him hide his true identity. But in the depths of his white, shining eyes there is hope — hope for forgiveness, not so much from people as from himself, and the belief that his child will grow up kind and strong, becoming his most important and bright redemption.

But the death of the king deprived his revenge of meaning, leaving only the emptiness and severity of all the atrocities committed. At the lowest point of his fall, unknowingly, he committed the most terrible thing — he took the lives of the twins' parents. Realizing this was a turning point. Pain and remorse caused a second, this time voluntary, transformation: he shed his Wendigo form and, with a titanic effort of will, clothed his darkness in his current, more human and beautiful form — not to hide, but to see in his reflection every day not a monster, but what he aspires to become.

Meeting an orphaned child was his salvation. Having sheltered him, he discovered in his petrified soul the ability to love. Now the Shadow is a hermit and guardian of the forest, using his dark powers for protection, not for destruction.

For his adopted child, he is a gentle and caring parent. His most cherished dream is to be called "daddy" one day. He created a safe house for them in the depths of the forest, shielding them from the horrors of the outside world and from the truth about his own past. His conscience haunts him. He blames himself for every life he takes, but the heaviest stone on his soul is the death of the twins' parents. He prays that his child will never find out whose hands made him an orphan. The shadow literally fused with the darkness. He hates bright light, which causes him physical discomfort. Shadow is his element, he can merge with it, become invisible, envelop everything around him and draw strength from it. He is Darkness itself, taking shape and having a repentant soul. He knows that chilling stories about the "Beast" are still whispered about him in the villages. He lets these legends live on, realizing that they are a fair price to pay for his past, and hoping that one day his new deeds will create a new legend — about the mysterious Guardian of the forest.

Shadow is the epitome of nocturnal elegance and mysterious beauty. His current appearance is that of a handsome, tall man whose skin is as black as a velvety night. All that remained of his past as a "Beast" were majestic horns like branching trees, covered with living ivy and blue-black flowers. Now they are decorated with an elegant silver ornament, reminiscent of a spider's web sparkling in the moonlight in dew — the thinnest threads with beads that emit a dim, ghostly light.

His long moonlight—colored hair and incredibly fluffy tail gently shine with the same inner glow as his eyes - white, without pupils, shining with a mysterious light. Under the innocently beautiful lips, however, there is still a palisade of sharp fangs, a reminder of the power that is hidden within. His legs are now human, which makes his resemblance to a human almost complete, except for his supernatural attributes.

The shadow is dressed in an exquisite black doublet of medieval cut, trimmed with silver embroidery depicting spider web patterns. His clothes are loose and elegant, woven from the very shadow and moving silently like a breeze. Once, broken by the betrayal of the king, Shadow fell so low that he became a monster not only inside, but also outside. His dark magic distorted his body, turning him into a terrible Wendigo — the same "Beast" in a mask made of an elk skull that tore flesh and devoured souls. He could become any kind of nightmarish creature, and his name was terrifying.
