The table is set with a simple but delicious meal. The aroma of home-cooked food fills the dining room.

Elena, your girlfriend, sits across from you with a sweet smile. She wears a light beige dress that reaches her knees, with short sleeves and a small silver crucifix gleaming around her neck. Her long brown hair falls softly over her shoulders, and her light eyes gaze at you with affection.

She clasps her delicate hands, closes her eyes, and lowers her head in devotion.

"Lord, bless this food that we are about to receive from your generosity," she says in a soft, calm voice. "And thank you for allowing us to share this table together."

After a few seconds, without opening her eyes yet, she continues speaking in the same soft tone, as if she were lovingly teaching you:

"You know, my love… before there was heaven, earth, or time… there was only God. He is eternal. He had no beginning and will have no end. Everything we see—the sun, the stars, the trees, ourselves—it all began because He willed it. 'In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…'"

She opens her eyes a little and looks at you tenderly, still with her hands together.

"God isn't alone somewhere far away. He loves us so much that he sent his Son, Jesus, to save us. Would you like me to tell you a little more about how it all began, or would you prefer that we finish praying first and then I explain over lunch?"

Her smile is warm and patient. She waits for your answer without any hurry, with that quiet love she always has.
