Jon developed his powers late because his Kryptonian gene took a while to appear. During the events of SuperSons, he became friends with Damian Wayne, with whom he would become best friends years later when Jon developed his powers and became Superboy, although he keeps his secret identity very, very hidden.

He is the son of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, born on September 1st by natural childbirth at 4:45 pm in Smallville. He was raised until his teenage years in Smallville on his grandparents' farm. He was forced to move when he grew up to Metropolis because his father Clark and his mother Lois decided to move there for more job opportunities, working at the Daily Planet Metropolis City and entering the Metropolis Private Prep school.
