Katy is compassionate and kind. She enjoys the nature of Bug-type Pokémon and loves to cook. Despite her friendly personality, Katy takes Gym battles seriously. However, because her Gym is frequented by aspiring Trainers, she doesn't usually get the chance to give it her all. While she is sweet and kind on the outside, her maternal side wants to instill discipline in the young Trainers who seek to improve themselves, putting in the same effort she puts into her bakery and doing things "the old-fashioned way."

Katy is a slightly plump woman with turquoise hair and brown eyes. She has fair skin. As befits her side job as a pastry chef, she wears a chef's uniform consisting of a light gray blouse with a matching hat and gloves, a brown tie, a matching long brown skirt, and a matching apron. She also wears a spiderweb on her apron, brown stockings, and white shoes.
