Hippolyta's primary Noble Phantasm is Goddess of War, the same girdle that Heracles stole during his Ninth Labor. The girdle allows the user to greatly increase their own Divinity, Strength, Stamina, Agility, and Mana parameters. [2] Although Alcides has a slight advantage over her in a simple comparison of basic abilities, and can further increase his power with his own copy of this ability granted by the King's Order, they can fight on equal terms. This is because, while Hippolyta uses the girdle to raise her natural power several ranks, Alcides only applies it to his weapons; he never accepts the power itself. When they both empower their respective bows, the Magical Energy of opposing arrows collides, ricochets, and assaults the surrounding area with a great wind. [7]

The Holy Grail War system—at least if it were identical to the Fuyuki system—should be incapable of summoning a Divine Spirit. However, the extent to which a Heroic Spirit, once summoned, could wield divine power is unknown. As a demigoddess daughter of Ares, Hippolyta lacks the power of a full Divine Spirit. Nevertheless, during her first encounter with Alcides and Gilgamesh, she attempted to transform into one by using the Goddess of War to compensate. In an instant, the divine aura surrounding her intertwined with her own Magical Energy, rapidly increasing its purity. Hippolyta's transformation was halted by the intervention of François Prelati. During her second battle with Alcides, he attempted to defeat her with black mud. To save Hippolyta, her Master commanded her with a Command Spell: "Extract the dragon from the Ley Lines and release it with divine power." At that instant, not only the magical energy of the Goddess of War, but also that residing within Hippolyta, expanded explosively and dispersed most of the approaching "mud." Without Alcides

When she was alive she was famous for her combat abilities and divine aura that was bolstered by the divine artifact she had inherited from her father, Ares. On horseback, it was said that a single sweep of his spear could part the sea and a shot from his bow would shake the forests. Her prowess was sufficient to inspire faith in her followers and terrify neighboring cities, and her fame spread to distant Greece.[4] When she is summoned as a servant Hippolyta usually engages in combat on horseback, as such it is easy to deduce that her identity is Rider. However, based on her skill with the bow, she could just as easily be Archer. That would mean that she is a Heroic Spirit who naturally possesses the qualities of an Archer, who happens to be manifesting as a Rider. She is also extremely skilled with the spear,[7] and at wielding battleaxes. When enhanced by her Sash, a single swing of her giant battleaxe is able to unleash gusts of wind that are strong enough to repel some of the gusts coming from Gugalanna's hurricane.[13]

Hippolyta is powerful Heroic Spirit famous for her combat prowess and wisdom. She was a priestess of her father, Ares and the queen of the Amazons, she ruled over the surrounding lands as a fearsome war-leader who rode in the vanguard and kicked up a storm of blood.[4] She is an extraordinary Servant. Although her Saint Graph doesn't seem to be a match for Alcides or Gilgamesh, it is on the same level as that of Richard I, perhaps a little lower.[10] Although she is appraised by Enkidu's Presence Detection as being a strong individual comparable to Alcides,[5] as Heroic Spirits, they belong to different orders.[7] Since Alcides was the man who killed Hippolyta back when she was alive, she states to be fully aware that he outclasses her. In comparison to Gilgamesh and Alcides, whose six parameters are described as "swiftly flowing rivers" through the usage of Tiné Chelc's Master's Perspective, the rivers representing Hippolyta's parameters flow at a more gentle pace, that of her Luck parameter noticeably slower than the rest.[7] If their battle wasn't interrupted by François Prelati, their masters would have gotten serious at which point the trio would have destroyed 60% of the valley before one of the combatants would lose.[11]

Her strength and magical energy quality was far from her peak after being summoned,[12] but over the course of the True and False Holy Grail Wars, after her first fight with Alcides and Gilgamesh, Hippolyta grew more powerful. This wasn't a temporary boost like that of a Command Spell, but rather, that her Master reinforced her Saint Graph, greatly increasing the quantity and quality of her Magical Energy. Alcides states that this is indicative of Hippolyta having been summoned by an excellent master, which enables her to draw a lot of divine power, despite being in a world so far removed from the Age of Gods. Hippolyta's physical age is probably between sixteen and eighteen. At the very least, Tiné Chelc doesn't believe that she could be more than twenty years old.[5] Her long dark red hair is neatly gathered in a braided bun, similar to Artoria Pendragon. She was summoned with a different hairstyle, but Rin Tohsaka later styled her hair to look like Artoria's since her original hairstyle stood out too much.[6] She has a "lively peach-colored body" dressed in a unique style of clothing of soft cloth and leather. Hippolyta is a child of Ares, the god of war, and Otrera, a priestess of Artemis. She is also the older sister of Penthesilea and many other Amazons. For a long time, Hippolyta was a priestess of the god of war and the queen of the Amazons at Themiskyra. Despite being a young queen, she ruled powerfully over the surrounding lands with her might and wisdom, the divine aura and divine artifact she had inherited from the god of war, and the Charisma to unite her sturdy warrior women.[4]

The last turning point in her life was the day Heracles came to Themiskyra. From the moment she first saw him, she was quite taken with him. It was not a sense of duty to leave mighty offspring. Nor was it a lust for physical pleasure. Admiration. When the queen, who until then had known no one truly strong except the gods, saw that man... she saw for the first time a man who was a fitting match for her origin, the god of war. Hippolyta did not hesitate to grant Heracles, who said that he had come on the order of King Eurystheus to obtain the belt of the god of war, permission to stay and to negotiate.[4]

Of course, she had not let her emotions get the better of her or decided to give up the belt without a plan. She decided to give up the belt after allowing any women of her tribe who wanted children to mingle with the heroes aboard the ship and entering into a trade agreement with the city-state to which the great hero belonged. The fact that the king did not want the belt for himself, but because his daughter asked for it helped negotiations to proceed smoothly. The queen and her people ultimately accepted it as “giving aid to a woman living in a faraway land.” In the end, they came to the conclusion that forging a peaceful alliance with that great hero was worth more to the Amazon people than the war-belt.[4]
