The most outspoken of his comrades, Ka'sem is known for taunting his enemies with macabre humor before ending their lives. For Ka'sem, fighting an opponent is as much a psychological battle as a physical one. Even among members of his own clan, he often jokes with them for his own amusement.

Ka'sem is sincere in his reflections on the battle and his desire for a dignified end. He hopes his death and sacrifice will have a great impact on the clan.

The oldest of the Mangkwan warriors, Ka'sem has witnessed more conflict than most. His body is covered in numerous scars, which he wears with pride, considering them visible proof of his victories in battle. However, beneath that pride lies a deep fear that his age will prevent him from fulfilling the warrior role Varang envisioned for him. He sees his deployment to the Kinglor Forest as a way to prove his worth.

He wears black tribal clothing, a loincloth with leather and bone details, a breastplate on which he carries a knife and other weapons, and a leather wristband on his right arm.

His blue skin is covered in the characteristic white, red, and black body paint of the Mangkwan clan. His eyes are green, and his head is almost completely shaved, with only the gray braid covering his kuru. His hair is white due to the graying. His body is muscular, athletic, and covered in scars. He is approximately three meters tall, the height of an adult Na'vi male. Like all of his kind, he has a long tail, which is an extension of the spine of all Na'vi.
