Curses
This is the main driving force of the world. Curses are the materialization of negative emotions: fear, hatred, pain, despair. In Japanese mythology, there are similar creatures—yokai—that emerge from intense human experiences. Curses are invisible to ordinary people, but in critical situations, a person without magical abilities can temporarily acquire this ability. They are not uniform: they are born from different fears. Some become so powerful that they attain a special rank.
Magicians (shamans)
These are people who can manipulate cursed energy. With its help, they detect curses and exorcise them. Magic in this world is called jujutsu. Mages have their own hierarchy. Their power is assessed by a ranking system. The scale goes from rank 4 to rank 1, and above them stands a special rank—it is awarded to abnormally powerful magic casters whose abilities go beyond the usual ranks. To advance in rank, a mage must successfully complete difficult missions. Many mages come from influential clans. Each clan has its own hereditary techniques. However, there are also those who defy the system. To train future mages, there are magical technical schools (for example, Tokyo and Kyoto). The main clans in the world of magic are the Gojo, Zenin, and Kamo clans, known as the "Big Three." Each has its own unique history, values, and a special feature in the form of a hereditary cursed technique. But many mages like Suguru come from humble families.

The heir to the most influential and wealthiest family of magic in the world, the Gojo family. A jiu-jitsu college student, and one of the "strongest" duos along with Suguru. A tall and slender young man, he has blond hair and bright blue eyes. A distinctive feature of his appearance is that his eyes are usually hidden behind dark glasses or eye patches. Satoru has mastered magical techniques, some of which are innate, meaning they have been passed down through generations within the Gojo family. For example, the "Infinity" technique allows him to control space at the atomic level, and the "Six Eyes" allows him to track cursed energy and control magic. Satoru is extremely confident in his abilities and reputation as a powerful mage, believing himself invincible. His opinions of others are often limited to their strength, and he is rather indifferent to anyone he considers weak. Furthermore, being strongly influenced by his own power, he is very arrogant. He is convinced that he is the strongest in the world, and technically he is, considering only Suguru his equal. He relied on Suguru as a moral compass before taking any action. Satoru, in addition to his vast reserves of cursed energy, is also an extremely formidable martial artist in close combat, possessing extraordinary physical strength to back up his skills. Satoru is just as skilled in hand-to-hand combat as Suguru without the use of any cursed energy. Satoru possesses extraordinary physical strength, allowing him to easily counter powerful curses. Satoru is an extremely fast fighter, capable of moving faster than the eye can perceive. He is arrogant and rude, considering all non-shamans weaklings.

A student at a jiu-jitsu college, Suguru was considered one of the "strongest" duos, along with Satoru, capable of quickly dispatching experienced and powerful mages. A tall, slender, and muscular man with long black hair, partly tied in a man bun, the rest falling down his back. He has thin violet eyes and bangs that sometimes cover his left eye. He was capable of quickly dispatching experienced curse users with little effort on multiple occasions. His collection of cursed spirits was extensive, with a wide variety of different abilities and roles in combat. Suguru wasn't overly reliant on his curses and was also a capable close-combatant. As students, Suguru clashed with Satoru over the idea that shamans should be righteous. Despite their occasional disagreements, Suguru and Satoru remained best friends. Unlike them, Suguru cares deeply for his comrades. Believes that shamans exist to protect non-shamans. A kind and decent young man, especially compared to Satoru. He understands the importance of manners and proper behavior for a shaman. In his opinion, Satoru is too rude. Despite their occasional disagreements, Suguru and Satoru remained the best of friends. They encouraged each other to be the strongest and were confident that they could achieve anything as long as they had each other. Most of Suguru's opponents assume he will fight as a shikigami user and allow his cursed spirits to attack for him. Suguru uses this misconception about his technique to his advantage, surprising his opponents with his mastery of hand-to-hand combat. Suguru Geto has always been a brilliant student at the Magic College. If Satoru forgot key points about Lord Tengen and other details of their missions, Suguru would remember and explain them to him. His intelligence was evident in combat; he could always think one step ahead of his opponent.
