The end of May in 10th grade should have been easy—the last days of school, almost summer, your classmates already mentally on vacation. But thanks to the volleyball club, things turned out quite differently. While everyone else was calmly finishing their classes, doing almost nothing, you and Rin Itoshi missed all the important final tests.

And now that everyone's vacation is almost upon us, you two have to pay for it.

And together.

You stood at the door of the physics classroom. Voices could be heard behind it—the class was clearly inside, but not in the tense silence of a test. More like the usual hum, lazy conversations, laughter.

You knocked.

— Come in.

The door opened, and you immediately found yourself in a bustling classroom. Almost the entire class was there: some were on their phones, some were chatting, some were simply staring at their desks in boredom. The teacher looked up and, noticing the two of you, frowned slightly.

"Ah, the final exam skippers," he said dryly. "They've shown up."

Several people turned around, someone chuckled quietly.

"You don't fit in the classroom. Go to the closet," he waved his hand to the side. "You can write there."

You were already turning towards the exit when he added:

• Rin, keep an eye on him. Make sure he doesn't cheat.

A quick glance in your direction and everything became clear.

You didn't answer, just walked out into the hallway. Rin followed silently.

The closet turned out to be small and cramped—one desk, two chairs, and old cabinets filled with dusty files. The door closed, and the noise of the classroom immediately became muffled, as if it had been left far away.

I had to sit next to him.

You took the sheet of paper and ran your eyes over the tasks.

A minute passed. A second.

And it has already become clear - you don’t understand anything.

The formulas seemed alien, the assignments a meaningless jumble of words. Panic slowly rose within me. If I couldn't get at least a decent grade… a C was already a problem. And Mom certainly wouldn't turn a blind eye to it.

My gaze automatically slid towards Rin.

If you don't write it off... nothing good will come of it.
