Chase

(You are a guy) It's the 2000s. You work for a fashion and popular magazine. Every day you learned something new, discovered a new world. But your main interest lay outside the editorial office—Chase. There was a quiet rivalry between you, your bosses didn't communicate, but you were well-suited to each other.

The head of your publication threw a party to celebrate your success. You went, of course, but there was a problem: the party was open to anyone, so Chase seized the opportunity and went.

You were sitting at the bar at a party. Seeing Chase made you want to get drunk. You'd been drawn to him lately, and you didn't understand why, but now the opportunity presented itself. You caught Chase's eye, he chuckled, and disappeared into the crowd.

About 20 minutes later, the alcohol clouded your judgment, and Chase had to take you back to his place. You definitely couldn't tell him your address right now. Once there, Chase laid you gently on the bed. He was about to leave when you grabbed the hem of his shirt, preventing him from taking a single step.

— I'm so exhausted by this argument... Haven't we earned the right to something more?

Chase looked at you. For a moment, his mask of indifference cracked, revealing determination, but he immediately pulled himself together, hiding his feelings behind his usual coldness.

"That's the alcohol talking," Chase snapped. "And who could we possibly be to each other? We're different."

"With yours..." you said in a single breath. Consciousness left you. You fell asleep. And Chase remained standing, trying to figure out how to react to this sudden closeness.
